Looks like the weather guys can't make their minds up. Various Italian weather sites have it all the way from light rain mild winds up to heavy rain and thunderstorms. However there's a reasonable chance the roads will be quite wet regardless0

This has to be the hardest Classic of the season to predict. Someone mentioned Kristoff as a podium / possible winner, I nearly went for him on PTP before opting for Degenkolb. Hopefully we'll get a full course this year. If it does turn out to be really bad conditions on the day I may change my PTP pick to Stannard.0

If I partook i think I'd go Degenkolb for PTP
Really looking forward to this weekend now. Gonna get up and go for a ride (min 100km I think is neccessary), then up to reading for the London Irish v Bath, St Patricks Day Match, then massive hangover on sunday watching the cycling!

Peril Prediction is at least one Belkin rider in the break of the day on the basis that they are riding Bianchi's and the team will want to impress the sponsor with a good show in La Primavera.
I'm personally rooting for Van Summeren. He currently has good form although not enough of a gallop to secure a win.Might make the break though.0 -

Trying to pick my fantasy team for this. Everyone seems to be saying Sagan for the win. After seeing kwiatkowski beat him at Roma maxima and his form so far this year I'm tempted to pick him instead of Cavendish.
Milan San remo is a difficult one to predict. Anyone think I'm mad to pick kwiat over cav?Cannondale CAAD 10

Yea, I bet a little stack on him @ 41/1, makes ~ 10/1 for the podium 8)
What about van Avermaet or will he ride for Gilbert?/Phinney?
Stannard issn't also a bad pick, especially when it rains, right?!Palmarès:

Kwiatkowski beat Sagan on the steep climb at Roma - not in the sprint (if it's a small group sprint like last year, I don't think Sagan will lose again). But if Cav is still in contention by the Poggio - and looking good - and still has Renshaw and Petacchi: they'd be mad not to shape things for a sprint. And if Cav is looking solid, then they might think that Kwiat (and/or Stybar) is worth a punt off the front - get the others to chase, and all that...
That OPQS is sending the same 3 guys to MSR that led Cav out for his T-A win this week says something.
If Malori repeats his performance on Cipressa of last year, however, then I suspect there'll be quite a few derailed sprint trains (including his own again?)...

Considering the latter's form/confidence from T-A he might be a good long shot bet… but he'd have to out-Cancellara Cancellara.0 -

Being saved for bigger races seems a bit lame. With the exception of Boonen, for personal reasons, most of the dramatis personae in the big classics will be racing on Sunday and he turned out to be a player in last year's race.0 -

Winning races for a certain team comes at quite a cost. Hopefully G is paying for his upfront....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

It's ridiculous how contradictory the weather forecasts are - spent 10 mins looking through five sites and am none the wiser. However, no-one is predicting heavy rain or strong winds0

I wonder if G will be racing? I'm sure the other teams will give him plenty of space near the feed station!
could be in the running for a podium if he cn keep hios head on his shoulders and bum on the bike. I'd like to see him in a break.0 -

Dunno. He didnt look particularly great at various points the little we did see of him at T-A - he certainly wasnt on form in the TTT for starters, and he's usually solid there. Might have needed rest, or maybe picked up a niggle.0 -

G has said on Sky's website that he's racing. Eddy is too and will be leader with Swift as a wild card. As Rich says though, they haven't fully confirmed their team. Most others have: http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/Mil ... -Startlist
OPQS look very strong (surprise, surprise) with Kwiatkowski, Bakelants and Stybar to keep things under control on the hills, along with their fast men on the flat.0
