Ben. It's one photo per person per day so they get seen and can be discussed if people want.
That Pantani shot is a stone cold gem.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

That Pantani shot is a stone cold gem.
My apologies, not knowing the rules of the thread. I was too busy looking at the other photos and I've only just read the rest now.
I'd love to find a poster of the Pantani shot without any of it's text."The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -
No worries. Easy to get lost amongst the latest goings on
It's such a strong shot. No idea who took that.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
It's the shot from Madonna delle Campiglio super imposed on some mountains is it not?
It's definitely Giro 990 -
I'd love to find a poster of the Pantani shot without any of it's text.0

It is a composite. Compare these two pictures, focusing solely on Pantani:Twitter: @RichN950 -
Good work. I wondered if it was a comp as an original wasn't floating around.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0

Funny that Geeds is in love with an edited shot from a poster and the one photo he posted that I see quoted is a heavily edited photo and is most definitely not in the Great category.
Good job on the edit adr82. You should edit and post more of them, from what I have seen you are pretty decent and I would be keen to see more.Ben. It's one photo per person per day so they get seen and can be discussed if people want.

No need to apologize Ben. If it wasn't for that old bore Geeds we would be able to post as many photos as we like. So rather than enjoy multiple excellent photos we are forced to just one per day. If we post more Geeds will report us (likely he didn't you though as he is that sort of guy) and we will get a ban...Contador is the Greatest0 -
Yawn.....as for posting edited photos.
Two words for you, as you're struggling with it, spot colour. You're really in no position to start talking about well edited photos, which Gruber's clearly are. You have no clue, that much is obvious.
Now. Back to the photos. which people can now actually see as you're no longer posting 50 pieces of crap per day.
And a reminder, you're free to start your own 'All the cycling photos thread'. I'm not sure why you haven't.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
Thanks Andy, much appreciated
Wandering through some of Jared Gruber's impressive work earlier and this hits the spot for me:
As a pro photographer myself, his composition, positioning, timing and use of light are first class.
That is a pretty cool photo. Thought it was snow to begin with. Gruber's work on the Strava stories is excellent as well.
I think he's unquestionably the best current cycling photographer - and possibly best current sports photographer though I don't really have enough knowledge on thatWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Not sure what the two blocked posts are above but not a surprise they come in quick succession to a post from me. Especially that Geeds, got the page on refresh all day long waiting for me.
Gruber, a guy I was emailing way back when he was contributing to Pez, a guy who I have touted on this forum from the earliest, a guy who I have consistently held up as the best ever. Let's not forget Ashley though. Gruber Images = both of them.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Ah yes. Blocking. The refuge of the feeble minded.
And of course. You're responsible for Gruber's success. Despite decrying his image above because it's 'edited'. Your absolute lack of visual literacy would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.
Time for you to wear your big boy pants I think.
My last post here replying to you.
Photos, or take your angst elsewhere.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
Keep refreshing that page Geeds. Or better still, stop poking me. Your blocked posts don't do much for the aesthetic of this page.Contador is the Greatest0

This is the greatest photo for me and captures everything I love about the sport. Huge emotions every time I see this photo; an incredible victory and a superb photo from a superb photographer.0

Indeed. Such an incredible collection of athletes brought together and forged to a singular purpose.0 -

We in Bottom Bracket take great delight in watching silly arguments from a distance. Carry on gentlemen, it's great fun but...
It's popcorn time for us as this thread has descended into a French Farce merged with English satirical comedy. The problem in general in the whole of Po Face is how seriously most people take themselves and the subjects. Po Face excludes many wannabe posters and arguing like children in a playground doesn't help the apparent 'club' mentality nature of this part of the forum.
This thread used to have a select few iconic photo's. If you trawl back to the first couple of dozen pages, it's just that.
Let's try this shall we?:

I really like both Jared and Ashley Gruber, and the fact they can work as a couple on a race and split up to cover more of the race. But I'd also throw Kristof Ramon into the 'best current cycling photographer' discussion. His feel for light is the best of all IMO - he came from a film background, and you can tell.
Bob, if you follow photo stories on Exposure and you don't already follow them, Roadbook Britannia are very good for coverage of the UK domestic racing scene0 -
Stop complaining and post a photo Pinno : ) There is also no preclusion for any member to post a photo - I welcome all of them. The Geed squabble is simply umbrage with quantity of photos I post.
Knock yourself out Pinno, make my day and post a gem.Contador is the Greatest0 -

You think too highly of yourself, ddraver's had absolutely nothing to do with you.0 -

The post by ddraver above that you were referring to did not mention or quote you - it was merely a comment on the quality Gruber's photography.
But I suppose it's all about you isn't it.0 -
