    Edit - 7, Scarponi dropped.
    Correlation is not causation.

    Valverde, then Mollema then Porte
  • Valverde wins from Mollema in second.
    Correlation is not causation.
  • The jolly green giant wins easily ... and crosses the line into what looked like a potato field ...
  • Are there bonus seconds in this?
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Oh well maybe next time Sky. You burnt 95% of the peloton out of contention.

    Go Valverde.
    Contador is the Greatest
  • Great work Mollema, not sure who tipped him previously.

The results better show a split as there was at least a few seconds for Valverde.

    edit, thanks ATC.

    Go Valverde.

It was no surprise, Porte is building to the Giro, whereas Valverde knows this will probably be his only stage race win this year, with a smattering of podiums.
  • Wow that hill top town is amazing.

    Great climb.

Wiggins building slowly this year...two years ago he could destroy everyone. Must be the facial hair.

He's holding off looking to peak for the 4th GT, the Tour of California.
  • I think I just saw Linus - still not finished.

  • Valverde
    Porte +19
    Luis Leon Sanchez +21
    Zubeldia +24
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Can't believe this ugly Rebellin is still able to be up there. Go LLS and Navarro top ten.

*shrugs* he's supporting Porte here (and not as number 2 or 3 wingman). He's circa 6kg over his 2012 Tour weight right now.
  • I wonder if Wiggins rode backwards and forwards over those cobbles at the top of the climb to help prep for Roubaix?
    Correlation is not causation.

WIGGINS DROPPED BY HIS TEAMMATES as Sky rider two hits the front.
Was that after a serious turn on the front (ie planned) or was he just dropped cos he could not hack the pace?
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

I'm not sure I ever saw him put his nose in the wind.

EDIT - it was Movistar on the front for most of the day and then EBH and Lil' Pete.
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Wiggins not doing a very good job supporting then ... 1st out the back ... Imagine if the teams that shepherded him to glory were in that form ...

EBH, Pete & GT looked on it ... Which is good for EBH & GT's classics campaign as Boonen is already on form and Fab & Sagan were tearing it up in the other race ...
  • Got to hand it to Valverde - he's on tearing form

Shame about the knee warmers though.

Yeah it looks like Thomas and EBH have hit the ground running. Thomas has had the time in Oz to train of course.
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Really enjoyed the fact that we had a 2 hour chunk of good quality footage to watch.
    Excellent for mid Feb.
Had a bit of a guffaw when Thomas had smashed the bunch into bits, only to see
old man Tin Tin still tagged on the back.
He even managed to be Little Richie over the line.
    Prime time this 42 lark.
Valverde romps up the ramp and flies away, all in the big ring.
He's got this race wrapped up.

Well, here he's not playing a Froome/Rogers/Porte role - but more a Christian Knees role
  • That the same 'Knees' role we had last May?
