Anyone been refunded??
According to their website:
If you are not successful gaining an entry, the payment you have made will be returned to you as soon as the draw is completed.
I'm guessing we're in0 -
Facebook page has reference to all rejection emails being sent out this morning by 9.30am, so just another 15 minutes of refreshing the inbox!
I'm guessing the refunds going out as soon as the draw is completed depends on how you interpret how soon is 'as soon as the draw is completed'?
Once 9.30 comes and goes without an email, I will be a bit happoer, but I'm still not counting my chickens until I get that letter in my hand!0 -
Looks like people on FB are getting the "no" emails. Nothing here so far...0
-
Well I'm not in, nor is the group of first timers in my club nor the other individual entry I know of.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0
-
I would guess if you haven't heard in the next 15 minutes or so that is good news - though you may revisit that emotion half way u p Hardknott.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Unlucky DeVlaeminck, that's not what you want on a friday morning.
No email for me so far, and given that the FB site says that all emails should have gone out by now, I am assuming I'm in. If for some reason my email is delayed and I do get rejected, I will definitely volunteer this year to guarantee entry for 2015 - but I'm fortunate in that respect as I live in the area, so I guess this isn't an option for many.0 -
No email received yet. Got to be good news :-D0

My mate has just heard, he's not in
He's going to try the 'raise money for our charity' route, can he do that now that the draw is closed?0 -

This is a quote from the FB page yesterday:
Letters are going in the post tomorrow, the people who are (sadly) unsuccessful will get an email tomorrow. The list of riders will go up on the site next week. If you are unsuccessful, you will be given a link to click if you want to be put on the reserve list in case of cancellations. Please note: we cannot do the reserve list through Facebook so don't ask here please. There are still some guaranteed places for anyone who donates £250.

That's good news, I'll send him a text and let him know.
Thanks0 -
No email yet so fingers crossed I have a place. Just started on 2x20 turbo sessions - I'd struggle with motivation without rides like this looming on the horizon. Aiming for sub 7 hours (cat in hell's chance perhaps).0
-
Yeah, no email for me either. Won't believe it til i see my name on the list on the site though. Sub 7 hours would be mega impressive! Is that ride time or total time?0
-
Sub 7hrs??
Holy crap. I'm going for a sub 9hr this year :oops:0 -
I did it in 7:50 last year and wasted at least 15 minutes trying to get warm at the second feed stop - I stupidly rode the Cold Fell section without my rain jacket, and by the time I had descended off the tops I was bloody freezing. I'm still fairly new to road riding so learned a lesson that day! I would have been closer to 7:30 if I'd been suitably attired.
I'm looking to build up my fitness to a better place this year, so sub 7:30 should be achievable, but I like setting myself challenges, hence sub-7.0 -
That cold fell section and the run out of the second feed stop were horrendous last year in that weather. Hopefully it will be a sunny day with light winds lol.
7.29 last year for me. Aiming for sub 7 aswell!0 -

My mate's got a place, he picked up one of the guaranteed charity spots.
He's cock-a-hoop. I said I'd only sponsor him if he actually finishes, after he dropped out last year with hypothermia (even thought the St John's Ambulance person said he was ok to carry on........I told him if he came into hospital looking like that I'd stick an oxygen mask on his face, I've never seen someone alive with such blue lips!).0 -
Well I'm. B&B booked. Life insurance checked.
Did 80 miles this morning and now enjoying a Duvel.2015 Cervelo S3

Has anyone had a letter today? Me and my "teammates" didn't get emails and no Paypal refund yesterday (so assume we're in) but as far as I know nobody actually got a letter.0

I left it to the other member of the team and he's booked us into a Youth Hostel in Ambleside. I was rather thinking of a little B&B with fantastic beds so I could spend the night before in comfort and then the Sunday night recuperating.2015 Cervelo S3

Anyone staying in Ambleside planning on cycling to the start? Just to make up the difference up as the route is shorter* this year?
Perhaps we could organise a chaingang** from Ambleside to Grasmere?
* allegedly!
** a gentle social chaingang that is :oops:0 -
I will be staying in Ambleside the night before, family run a cafe their, I'm up for a wheel to follow to the start.0
-
I'll probably be in Ambleside, at the YH if any beds left, if not then at Low Woods camp site. Am sure we could arrange an RV...0
-
I'm staying in Ambleside at the Salutation - I've had to book Sunday night as well, so might stay over for some beers, or may just use the room to shower in and go home, depending on how cooked I am! I may ride up to Grasmere (and then profoundly regret it afterwards!).0
-
Excellent. Sounds like we've got a chain gang on!
My mates parents have an apartment in Ambleside (lucky buggers!!), we're staying there. We're going home after the FW (work the next day ).
Shall we get a bit more organised nearer the time??0 -
Yes, how far is grassmere from Ambleside, ?0
-
Anyone received a letter yet?, nothing here, snail mail I guess0
