Let me know next time it's on.
It's bizarre. They did one last summer just in the café (so v small) and it was a huge hit apparently, so this one is a lot lot bigger. It's like the Ghent 6 but with nobody paying attention! It's huge. Willl let you know when the next one is. Becky James and Philip Hindes were training today - we were watching the men's team pursuit fly around the track with all these beardy types supping beer and not even watching.

I think its bigger as well because Manchester used to host Camras national winter beer festival which used to take most of the organising effort out of the local Camra folk, this year as thats moved to Derby, theyve been able to apply their zeal to running a Manchester beer festival instead. sounded really cool, definitely keep an eye out for the next one.
though I did see Dani King wasnt that impressed about the smell though :shock:0 -
I think Thwaites brewery has upset some of their staff:

Manchester has another beer festival in October. The IndyManBeerCon. Have been the last two years and it's the best beer festival I've ever been to. Twice.0 -
12 bottles of duvel.
Had to be done at £1.50 a bottle.
Will help ease a week with the in laws, but I'm hoping to sample the local brew.
Any cornish beers to recommend, other than doombar."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

St. Austell brewery: Tribute, Trelawny, and Proper Job. If they're on draught and well-kept they're sublime.Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -

If you go to the brewery shop buy a crate of Tribute Extra (helps that my kids go to nursery next door to the brewery!). I'm getting through a crate a week. Legendary stuff. Tribute on tap is hard to beat, but the bottles are awful. Skinners do some good brews. Lots of micro-breweries springing up. St Ives has a couple of good places. Where are you staying?FCN 3 / 40 -

For those of you who like your beer and bikes, looks like the National Cycling Centre are planning on doing this again early next year :

Just found out there is a brewery in Tooting near my old halls of residence!

Will pop in on Friday and grab some brews to take up on our trip to see some Uni chums.RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.0 -
Got some proper job in bottle form. I'm going to Padstow tomorrow and the in laws are driving loads of pubs in the harbour, will be plenty to drink. I was disappointed when I was in one earlier, I'm ordering soft drinks and food, they have al these local brews, somebody orders
" 3 pints of carlsberg please love"

Padstow is very touristy - if you can sniff out the Port William Inn at Trebarwith Sands it has some spectacular views over the coast. Beer isn't too bad. If you want a proper pint try the St Kew Inn in St Kew. Those are easy enough to get to if you're the Polzeath side of the equation. There are a few microbreweries around Bodmin that are worth a look, particularly the Harbour Brewing Co, which is actually nowhere near a harbour.FCN 3 / 40

Try the Chiltern Brewery, just outside Aylesbury. The Farmer's Bar at the King's Head in town is a main local outlet, very nice, one of the few decent pubs in Aylesbury itself.
Mmmm, beeeeerrr

No time for beers at the moment; just back from France with 74 bottles of wine in the boot to add to the collection.
Never had Anjou whites before, but 2013 Domaine bu Petite Clocher Anjou Blanc is excellent. Especially at £5 a bottle direct from the winery.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
Race - Fuji Norcom Straight
Sun - Cervelo R3

Well, cornish beer is ok. But I still prefer the belgians offerings."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."
