Nukeproof Mega TR

Whether you get enough drop is personal preference. I only went for 125mm because it was cheaper but I only really need 75mm drop to be comfortable. Some people need 150mm to be comfortable.
Shorter drop is better for reliability and wear.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Fork and wheels are what I'd like to change on my mega really. Those nukeproof tr rims are crap, and the fork dives a little too much for my liking. Both will be fine for now though.0

By the way, why the Inline rather than the DBAir CS? Wouldn't the DB have stood up to the demands of downhill better, given its extra volume? All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I spoke to TF Tuned about this. The DB is better suited to longer travel bikes and may have too much volume for my frame so it won't be progressive enough. The DB Inline is designed for 120-150mm bikes which are intended for more hardcore use.
Nukeproof are fitting the DB Inline to the 2015 Mega TR Pro.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Ah, interesting answer, thank you. I was wondering if I should go the whole hog and go for the DB (not that I'm going to give either a hard time, mind you) but I guess that answers that concern. You got yours from TF Tuned, then? What would make it worth going to them and paying the extra they charge over the discounters on-line?
Going to wait a month or so before I take the plunge, though. Having just installed a Pike, a Superstar carbon wheelset, NP carbon bars and a pair of High Rollers I think I'm going to let my wallet take a pause for breath before I spend any more. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

TF Tuned will work out a base setting for your weight and bike and fit the frame hardware which is also included. Plus for me it's convenient because I pass them on the way home from work.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Ah ha, I've just twigged. You must be pretty close to me, then. My local station is Pewsey (although I don't live in Pewsey), which is next one up from Westbury. Small world. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Close to Marlborough. There's nothing too exciting round here (well, not that I know of...), but as I'm relatively new to this just being out in the countryside on my bike is enough for me at the moment, even if a recent trip to BPW has opened my eyes. I usually ride in Savernake Woods on a Saturday morning as my daughter has a 3 hour class in Marlborough. Again, though, nothing at all demanding there. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

It's time for another change. The Revelations are going. Good forks but I could use something a bit stiffer so I'm getting a set of Marzocchi 350 CR,s. Not the standard choice but I have ridden them and was very impressed. They're 650b so I'm going to drop them to 150mm to give the same A to C as a 26" 160 fork but I might end up going down to 140mm depending on how it feels.
Can't wait for them to arrive and get them fitted.
At least the orange stanchions will match my stem, bars and chain ring :-)Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Should this have been in your own thread?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Tidy forks, really fancy a set of them myself. Make sure to take lots of super blingy photos when they arrive!
That said, I've never found lack of stiffness to be a problem with my revelations. If anything I'd say dive on steep stuff is the main problem, think the RCT3 with decent damping would solve that.0 -
If you fancy a set Merlin have them for £370 at the moment. I'm getting a barely used set.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Shiny new forks. Just need the spacer to drop them to 140mm and they can go on. They look great.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Out of interest, why are you dropping them to 140? I find the bike rides perfect with 150mm up front (it was designed for 150mm). 160mm might be a bit much though.0 -
They are 650b forks so 10mm longer A-C than a 26" fork of the same travel. At 140mm the geometry will be the same as with my current 150mm Revelation.
I very much doubt I will notice the loss of 10mm travel up front with the much better damping keeping things under control better.
I very rarely got full travel out of the Revelations anyway.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Ah right, makes sense. The steepening of the geometry etc. was more along the lines i was thinking, rather than 10mm less travel, but the a-c explains it.
I don't think I've ever had the full claimed travel out of any fork...0 -

depends on the trails you ride - normal trails I'm good with 30% sag but if I go to inners for some DH I have to put a token in to ramp up the end stroke (pike 150)0 -
Get some Fox Float 34 Evo's if you want full travel. Blow. Through. That. Sh*t.
I have got most of the travel out of my 160 pikes via some heavy handed front wheel landings!Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
I regularly get full travel out of my Boxxers and used to get it from my Reba's and old style Pikes. I can get full travel from the Rev's if I run them at about 35% sag but that's too soft.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
