What about people who hate golf because its golf?
That's like people hating Wales because it's Wales - you have to have a good reason to hate anything0 -

Stop picking on cooldad, it's not his fault that Sunderland are shyte."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

A Mackem in Bagshot  .You must be:
a) talented beyond explanation.
b) well married - with a father-in-law that detests you.
c) one lucky fecker (see b) above)
d) a liar.
But it could be worse on the football front - you could be a Reading fan0 -
Back on the original topic, I do understand the attraction. There is a certain spirit in an item that has been handmade, lovingly crafted with blood, sweat and tears. A design that has stood the test of time - it may not have the latest technology, up to date aesthetics or even function that well, but this is not the point. The owner knows they have a part of someone's passion in what they own, and better still, made in this country by an artisan.
It is good to see the replica antique industry doing so well in the UK.0 -
I saw a guy on a Alpine 160 yesterday, clearly a new purchase, all i could do was stare at the welds and hold my tongue. In true Orange style it was dripping with hope bits too.
In other news, I really hate full on DH rigs being used for my local ride spot, it is definaltly not needed to do smooth rollers or the odd drop!0 -

I hate people who judge what other people are riding as being to much, maybe its the only bike they own from limited budget so its used for all the riding they do.0

Yesterdays monstrosity was a hideous looking thing that sat so high off the floor, Monster T's on the front and the shortest of wheel base.Pesky Jones wrote:VWsurfbum wrote:In other news, I really hate full on DH rigs being used for my local ride spot, it is definaltly not needed to do smooth rollers or the odd drop!

Surely the main thing is people are out enjoying their bikes? I would say most people are over-biked nowadays.0

sorry, it's just an eternal argument. soon someone will mention that you don't need suspension and that rigid 29ers are the best etc etc0 -
I think that was my point really, although I made it very poorly. I was trying to say, does it really matter what people use as long as they are enjoying themselves and actually getting out there using their bikes. The over-biked statement is aimed at me in many respects, for sure my bike is way more than I could ever dream of getting out of it. I am ultimately it's limiting factor by a huge margin.
I didn't mean to cause any offence......now isn't it time we had a debate over wheel size? Or maybe about the death of 26" wheel bikes? ......my personal pet hate! The numbers of threads about wheel size!0 -

Haha yes, in that case it would be unfair to judge.
9 times out of 10 where this isn't the case (reality), they are overbiked.
If I were to hedge a bet about where overbiked people might hang out - it would be a bike forum so I'm not really that surprised0 -
