I hate it when people use the word 'irony' without understanding what it actually means.

Seems you're the one who doesn't understand what it means. He criticised the general public for their lack of correct grammar, while displaying poor grammar himself - a textbook definition of irony, by any correct understanding of the word. And he doesn't know the difference between grammar, punctuation and spelling.

I'm sure the irony won't be lost on him.

I hate it that my boss arranges meetings in central London, asks me to attend with him then cancels every time. So far in the last year I have had "0" meetings with him and a customer.
When asked to still attend, I said "NO" today. I feel so money supermarket!
