I've thought about doing my headtube badge yellow! lol

quite nice in silver!..... interesting to see the fox rear shock on there! wonder why it was changed? (I don't like my monarch, it rebounds too slowly)

Ditch the Reverb.Everyone I know who've had them had no end of issues and got rid.
I like the raw/silver but when mine arrived the welds were dark grey(like the anodising had reacted with the weld) so I ended up with black....still love it 8)

Just to updat on my reverb situation. Hi bike have given me two options.
    1) they send me out a brand new 2014 reverb straight away, it's then down to me to return the other at my cost. This means I get the post straight away and it will cost me a tenner to post old one back
    2) they send me a return label and they will repair it under warranty, no cost option to me but I am without a post for up to 4 weeks.

I have opted for the new post option.

Great service, I know I could kick off about the postage, but really it's a drop in the ocean.

Cant argue with that! id rather have a new post at the cost of what? £10 - £15.

Nice to know they've looked after you!

    Cheers. Yellow would be cool!

The original owner didn't like the Monarch either, so swapped it for the Fox back in May.

I would have probably swapped the Monarch out myself too, although not sure what for!

Looking forward to trying out the Fox though!

Not far off on the Reverb. They do seems quite problematic, however when working nothing else is as good.

My welds are quite dark but it's not something that bothers me. Quite like it to be honest! I do like the black frames too though.

    Interesting.

Bike-Discount.de only gave me option 2 so I have just enquired if they can do option 1 as that would be a lot better for me too. I could live with paying return postage.

    Thanks for the update ;)

Off topic, but where is there multi-quote option on BikeRadar?

Stunning fork possibly the best I've had.Drop it into 140mm for climbing 170mm for everything else 8)
I got my frame 1/2 price new in 2012 so spent a bit more than I was going to on a fork :)

That must be one of the nicest Megas I've seen! Top marks :D

If I didn't already have the Lyriks and was buying new forks then I would have probably went for the Vengeance DLAs too.

TBH I wasn't holding out much hope for it as I was building it but it really surprised me and is a great trail bike :)
I've just replaced the Minions with Hans Dampfs and the Wellgo B54s with DMR Vaults so it's about 1lb lighter now aswell :)

TBH I could do with less/shorter pins as they and the Shimano AM41s are extremely grippy :)
The Vaults are a bit blingy/shiny for my liking but they were free so I can't complain 8)

Tempted to either paint the headtube badge black or polish it, and I'll probably remove the rest of the decals too :)

Never seen a nukeproof with kashima before.. Looks good!

Up to now they feel OK. Not sure yet if they're as grippy but they definitely roll quicker :)

My Crossmax ST wheels arrived today! Was quite surprised at how light they are to be honest!

Decided to go tubeless too so have ordered Mavic valves stems and some Schwalbe sealant. I know every raves about Stans and Fenwicks but I didn't see any harm in giving the Schwalbe stuff a try since it will be used with Schwalbe tyres. I just hope I don't fork it up as this will be my first dabble in the world or tubeless!

So, just forks to come back from service now and then I can get the beast built up! :)

Got the selant but turns out the advertised 100ml is actually only 60ml, so bascially enough to do one wheel! I've just ordered a 500ml bottle though so no chance of not having enough now.

No actual build progress yet as I'm still waiting on my forks + the CRC package with my BB, chainstay protector and chainguide has gone missing (ordered on the 14th!). CRC have said if it hasn't turned up by Monday then they will resend it.

In the mean time I'm going to fit the tyres with tubes in them just to straighten the beads out as I'm sure them being folded up will have created some small kinks.

Also ordered a HubDoctor ceramic upgrade / rebuild kit for the rear Crossmax hub :)

Hopefully have something better to report next week, along with some more pics.

    Mini update...

Got the forks back from being serviced and resprayed yesterday. Very happy with the quality of finish on the paint, in the flesh you'd think they were black from the factory. Might leave them nekkid if I decide to remove the last Nukeproof stickers from the frame (99% certain I will). Old seat and post fitted just to get an idea. The Reverb is still on the SX for now. Would probably have more progress to show if Hans Dampfs weren't THE hardest tyre in the world to fit on a Crossmax rim! Nearly burst an artery getting them on! I only did it to seat the beads for going tubless but after the ballache involved I think I might just run them with tubes until I pop one.

Anyway, less talk and more pics...

Awww, they're lovely. That's a great pic of Molly, I love tabbies. Is Nico playing an invisible violin? I have two sisters. Freya (tabby) and Isis (black). When I rebuilt my Boardman in the front room a few weeks back Isis climbed into the box of parts and, unbeknown to me, had managed to put a paw into the pre greased bottom bracket. Luckily there weren't too mant paw prints on the carpet, lol, but she wasn't keen on having her paw cleaned.

Haha, cheers mate. I'm sure they'd appreciate the compliment! Nico was just being her usual self and seeking out the last remaining sunbeams! That's funny about your BB! Mine are bad for that kind of thing too... although stealing cable ties seems to be their favourite thing to do when I have the tool box out! If there's not one already we'll have to make a "Post Your Cats" thread :D

Back to the bike... if time allows I should get cassette, cranks, brakes, bars and stem fitted tonight.

Cheers AJ! Yeah, less is deffo more when it comes to stickers... especially Nukeproof since it says it about 400 times per sticker :D

As for the tyres, I'm actually used to big DH tyres but the Dampfs are huge for what they are! 2.35" my eye! Doesn't help when fitting that Crossmax rims are super tall too! Lovely wheels though, so worth the effort.

Looking really good Lee, it looks very slick with minimal decals on it and I know what you mean, they obviously want people to know its a Nukeproof! The Minions on mine come up small as they usually do, even though they are on a set of EN325s but still grippy as hell. Haven't been out on mine for over a week! Really itching to get out on it!

Looking very nice. Nukeproof did like their logo a bit too much on the older frames. I was bored waiting for a race run once and counted the logo 68 times on my Scalp.
Thats a nice build, should be good for some abuse.

£9.50 is a bit of a rip compared to Hong Kong sellers, but I got them within a day so can't complain :)
