How's Moffat tonight? Is it as shyte as Stranraer?

    Probably. I live near Peebles.

Oh I remember now. It's the other bloke that lives in Moffat. We thought of moving to Peebles but house prices are a bit too high for what you get.

Plenty of advice about Gillet's here:

Try Biggar, just down the road.

Might be an idea. Hawick seems ok. Jedburgh is nice but falling apart. I don't want to be near the sea (it's over rated) - you know: 360 degree cycling options. We're not entirely sure yet but we definitely will be moving at some point.

Just after you finish the renovation?

If the renovation sells. I want a house with a man cave big enough for my bikes and a snooker table.

    Aye, but
Inside the EU or not? Lot of us economic migrants thinking about moving home... Or at least somewhere not where these embarassing people are...

Depends which way they're headed !

A Glaswegian mate of mine who works in London and has a good line in self depreciating humour said that the Scots are like piles to the English. If they come down and they go back up again, they're fine: if they come down and they stay down, they're a pain in the ar$e :P

Pretty sure that view works the other way as well...

Not sure that it does work the other way. Take a moment to think it through...

What a howler of a night.

'Ere, got to giggle at this:
Went to pick the OH up from work. It's been raining very heavily and as I approached the outskirts of town, luckily someone flashed me up. I slowed down only to discover the dip in 10 inches of water.
On the way back, as I exited the dip and the water, an Audi was approaching at silly speed towards me and the dip. I flashed him and he ignored me. I slowed to a halt and watched in my rear view mirror as he hit the water and came to a grinding halt. Then his hazard lights went on.
    Oh well...
