LOL at that ad - total marketing bollox!
The frame is only 207g lighter than the SL4 frame - so why is a fully built Emonda 4.6kg and the SL4 6.36kg? Build both bikes with the same kit and you have one bike 207g heavier.

I stopped reading at Trek.Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

FFS.
Because they finish it with lighter and more exotic components so it weighs less. Does that really need explaining? When Specialized start selling a super lightweight bike I'm sure it will be on the comparison but they don't, so it 'aint.
Erm...that went right over your head didn't it.0 -

Beppu;'s new Trek:
Contador is the Greatest0 -
Looks like the head tube is still quite tall on that Trek…..0

Interesting. I was at the velodrome in Majorca back in January/February and the Trel team were there doing aero testing. They had a 'secret' road bike with them at the time. All blacked out, no decals, etc. I suspect it was probably this new one.0

To save weight these super light frames aren't painted - just some sort of thin clearcoat. As carbon is generally black they tend to stay that way.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

Other than I'd have gone for white shoes it looks pretty good to me. The tattoos aren't my thing but that's nothing to do with the bike or kit.
edit: mismatching bottles so minus another point.Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.0 -
Trek and Guru for instance can paint/spray a bike most colours just 4grms. Trek I THINK developed this super light paint.
The Stem and forks on the Ax Lightness Vial are awful0 -
I didn't think they could do proper colours but the Trek Website shows about 9 for the vapor coat - which only weighs 5g.
Not super bright colours but a thin looking finish.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

Interesting stem...
It's an AX-Lightness stem. No idea why they're shaped like that though?0 -
That looks a lot better than some of the super lightweight bikes with the positive angle stems, nice also to see a lightweight bike that still has integrated shifters, a lot of them have down tube levers which yeah, save a few grams but mean you can't react as quickly to things.
P.S Di2? Apparently the electronic groupset is now lighter than the mechanical one0 -
