Personally, the only thing I find offensive is the gold Kashima coatings, lol. Yuk.

The Orange really doesn't appeal to me!

The 5010 does look really nice, but ideally I'd want a little more travel. My bikes have to do everything from XC to DH runs, so 140/150mm is ideal. I need to demo both really, but first impressions of the Bronson are insane!

I said orange, not Orange, lol.

I met a woman a while ago who had a white Orange. It occured to me that it could get confusing if she got together with someone who had an orange Whyte...

Both look gorgeous (I've drooled over them in Stif Cycles a few times), but for my pedestrian riding the 5010 would probably suit better. Can't afford either though, lol. Unless I sold the bike in my previous post's pic.
  • Collected my ENVE's so I just need to get home now and they will be going on. For what it's worth they are bloody lovely wheels, went for a standard ENVE build of AM rims, DT240S hubs, DT aerolite bladed spokes and brass internal nipples.

Hopefully I will have the second GL and the second set of HR II's ready to go as well when I get home although I do have a pair of Hans Dampf's on standby should the HR's not be here :D

If you meant the ENVE wheels they come with a 5 year defect warranty iirc and lifetime crash replacement cover at a nominal cost.

If you mean the frame it has a 5 year warranty and lifetime warranty on the pivot bearings.

  • Here we go, goth the Enve Twenty7.5 AM rims, laced onto DT240S hubs with DT aerolite spokes and Hans Dampfs:

    P1030616.jpg

Dropped almost 2lbs in weight over the Flow's, Pro 2 Evos and High Roller II's.

Man o man I love this bike, the only thing that's not for me is the wheel decal colour but each to everyone's own. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing as you're in the same 650b tyre situation as me.. HDs or High Roller?

I will let you know when I have managed to get some miles in on the Hans Dampf's. I did like the High Rollers II's though, they will take some beating.

I'll put my guess in at £5.5k for the complete Bronson..

In my eyes though, worth every penny
  • Lovely looking Bronson! My guess is more toward the £8k mark with wheels and everything all in.

Closer to £10k with the spec on that Venge :-) Damned nice bike, that.

Awesome, I'm leaning towards the HDs cause of avaliablity and price
But I've heard they roll when run tubeless, can you comment on this at all?

I will let you know tomorrow as I am going to try to get a big ride in. I ran them on my 26er Mojo HD130 and it led to a funny sensation on the rear wheel, kind of like I had a flat or a lot of play in the rear triangle bearings. That was at 30psi and a tubeless pacestar in the rear. My HR'II's never felt like this despite been on the exact same width rim and been ran tubeless as the Hans were.

I actually totted up a build on a Bronson as I'd build it, at the price anyone could get components for, Pike RCT3's, X01, Xtr brakes, Reverb, Easton Carbon bars and Stem and Stan's/Tune wheels and all that jazz and it came to £5500... which ain't bad really!
