Who is in the break besides AC and his team? My three year old just doesn't get that we need to leave daddy alone during the Tour stage!

Froome badly positioned in the chasing group - isolated and sitting on the windy side.

Cav could at least pretend to contribute ...

Why? Nothing in it for him until the end so should be saving himself.

Someone want to post a catch up of what's happened?
    lol... I'll try:
    - Echelons!
    - Kittel stuck in 2nd group, OPQS start pushing on (front group contains Cav/Sagan/Greipel and most GC contenders)
    - Valverde puncture, tries to TTT back on with teammates, Belkin start helping OPQS, he ends up in 2nd group >1 min back
    - Gap keeps going out
    - Front group starts splitting as OPQS/Belkin keep working
    - Saxo jump off the front with 5-6 riders, Cav/Sagan/Ten Dam/Mollema manage to get in there, Froome left behind along with Greipel
    - Saxo group now 40-odd seconds out in front of Froome group

Saxo couldn't have done this without OPQS. That's his contribution.

Froome needs to do another TT here...

Like him or loathe him that Bjarne Rijs can call a race!!

Plus it was his team that have done the damage all day. Enjoy the armchair ride.

BMC and Katusha have given up. Griepel has his Lotto lads on the front. Froome has 4 Sky with him. Looking ragged but gap slowly coming down.

Haha, he must be loving this, not to underestimate Sagan but Cav should win this 19 out of 20 times.

Imagine Froome had a team like Saxo working for him, he'd be about half hour ahead!

14km to go... gap to the yellow jersey group is growing... sky look weak...

Maybe Valverde will now go for stage wins...

If Saxo can do this on the flat. Tomorrow's profile looks tasty.

Absolutely. Hope the wind blows as much as today.

I love Saxo`s specs. Look like they have fire coming out their eyes.

One thing about Contador and Riis is that they necer give up. They know how to race. They know how to think outside the box. Big shame Contador blew on Saturday and got monstered on Wednesday.

    6.5 mins for Valverde!!!

True that - I was absolutely loving stage 17 in la vuelta last year..

you've got to them at least some credit, they know how to race!

He even managed to guide tactical dunce Ullrich to a Tour win

That little uncat climb with 8k to go could throw some spanners in the works?

Anyone think Bertie will go for the stage win?

I think Cav will get this - it is his last chance of a stage win until Paris - he needs it too much physiologically to let it slip.

Worrying thing for Froome is how poor Sky are as a team and how strong Saxo are looking. He's still got the edge in the mountains I reckon, but this has happened twice now and Saxo / Belkin will have got the message loud and clear.

Nah, would be a waste of energy for him. Putting time into Froome is the important thing.

Sky just look so ragtag compared to last year,
    brilliant stage though!!!!

Who is the road captain for Sky this year?

It was Rodgers last year.. but now he's doing it for Saxo - and doing a good job!

Nobody has even stayed with Froome let alone been able to captain the team!

Distances, people, distances! What are they? What's the gap?
10km to go. 45 seconds gap.

Saxo working together. Chasing group hardly working – they're stuffed.

Will be interesting to see how Cav and Sagan match up after a stage with so much effort
