So the allergy excuse for Contador again?
Seeing them within 1.30 of Froome suggests all the people going apoplectic up thread are off the mark, they probably need to be asking why some people look a shadow of their old selves (Evans excepted, he's just too old and got the Giro in his legs).0 -

To be fair. most of us have watched over 20 - 30 tours and some of our heroes are not very truthfull heroes and the sport is surrounded by cynicism. so watching a team with 5-6 guys on the front rewind banesto. Telekom. US Postal.

3rd fasted ascent of Ax 3 Domaine and, for the second year in a row one team has two people blow everyone off the mountain. Nothing to see here except clean riding.0

Gazzetta67 wrote:Am off for a SWIM tomo. as these marginal gains by Sky's SWIMMING coach is paying off even for the likes of that mountain goat Kennaugh & Co.
Kennaugh has been tipped as a potential Tour winner since he was about 19, it's hardly a shock that he can do this. He's built for climbing and has spent this season having trained specifically for this role rather than for riding a 4km pursuit. He will win a GT in the next 5 years.0 -
Journal Velo @JournalVelo
So Quintana goes up a climb freely and is a darling ... Froome turns inside out and... well you know the rest
Absolutely perfectly put! We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Who is guy that looks like a gay nightclub podium dancer off his tits on eckies getting interviewed by Ned B?
That top is even more horrendous in a close up.0 -
What we learned:
Froome really good, but not as fast as Laiseka
Contador, not as good as Ten Dam, Mollema, Nieve, Kreuziger.
Movister blew it by throwing Quintana at it from so far out.0 -

This.
Are we all assuming Bert is as good as he was in 2007?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

That was EPIC!
In a GOOD way
Shame we seem to have some of these from the Clinic?
Where were the the people who like to cry 'doper' when Qunitana put a minute into people on the Col de Pailhères?
Froome puts a minute into people and he's a doper. Qunitana does it and he's just a plucky little Columbian. I have no problem with skepticism but please be consistent.Correlation is not causation.0 -

Yeah, been watching since the mid 80s myself. Also you appear to have watched a repeat of last year's Tour. Sky were down to 4 riders 50km from home and 3 by the top of the penultimate climb. Saxo outnumbered them and Movistar had the same amount.0 -
the Inner Ring @inrng 2m
Tejay van Garderen comes in over 12 minutes down
On the plus side he didn't have to wait for Cadel.
He was showered and changed already“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
John Galloway @wjohngalloway
So, last year Wiggins was too boring and efficient=must be doping. This year Froome is too exciting=must be doping. Make your minds up FFS.We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Are you really trying to use a rider going on the first climb to a rider (and his teammate) blowing everyone away on the final climb? That is absolutely asinine at best. Second year in a row this forum is sounding like American forums from 1999-2005.0 -

How exactly is it different, can you please explain?
Edit - And if you don't like the 'American sounding nature of the forum' I think that others are available. Here's a link for you: http://forum.cyclingnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

Do you not realise that Quintana is a pure climber (as mentioned earlier - he was born above 3000m)? Those behind him were not pure climbers**************************************************

Just how much time did Quintana lose on the descent.
