    It did make me smile. Not the picture itself but the picture and the fact that you apologised for suggesting it.

    Well it did seem the right thing to do.

    Actually, I'm quite excited.

    I think the battle for green is a two horse race but both riders are fiercely competitive and want the jersey badly so I'm expecting a close and exciting battle.

    A contest for the white between between TJVG, Quantana, Pinot and Talansky (four great talents) should make for compelling viewing.

    I'm even hopeful that the battle for yellow could start as early as the second or third stage both of which are the kind of stages where Sky might, just might, be vulnerable. Certainly, if I was the DS of Saxo, Movistar, BMC, Garmin or any other team with aspirations of winning the race I'd be eyeing those two stages as possible chances to put Sky on the back foot early on.

    I was feeling excited a few weeks ago. Now I'm not. I don't know why. Maybe it is because the weather is suggesting it is February. The weather should at least suggest you may be able to dissect the stage just gone sitting outside with a beer. As it is at the moment I'm going to be sitting inside with a cup of tea under a blanket.

    I was planning on working from home for most of the Tour (I can do that now it is the holidays) go riding in the morning and do work/watch the stage in the afternoon. Now that looks less attractive as I'm back to wearing tights, ear warmers and long fingered gloves.

    Someone give me a reason to get excited, just not a picture of a sun drenched Corsica or anything Sagan related please.

    :cry::(:cry:

    Here you go, always a bonus to be at the rear

    Not really worth tracking down. Vulgar boats carrying cyclists edge cautiously up to a pontoon, cyclists get off, troop off up some steps with their bikes, cycle through a giant chess piece and look bored and embarrassed on a stage for three minutes (waving briefly and abortively for the tiny crowd) and then cycle off. Repeat for an hour. It probably sounded amazing in someone's head after the third glass at the planning meeting, but didn't really come off in the flesh.

    I just tuned in to see if;

    A. Contador got booed again
    B. Anyone fell off that narrow gangway into the water
    C. The interviewer asked Rowland how his Cortisol levels were holding up
    D. Contador got booed again

    I like the FDJ kit, but more used to seeing Chabal in those colours than a skinny Jeremy Roy.

    not as ripped as Froome it has to be said, who is verging on skeletal

    I've said it before - Tony Martin's neck is for too thin for his head
