  • I absolutely love that paint scheme. Normally I think blokes look stupid in pink, but that pink frame looks very cool.

For some reason, the stem looks really long though...... :?

    Long stems are pro :-)

The bars and hoods look quite long too - I think it is the picture perspective.

Only 110mm. And yeah, it's not exactly taken side-on.

Think it's tasty. Not many of us have a bike that's genuinely unique.

Sometimes things are unique for a reason ;-)

Surely any frame can be painted for a couple of hundred quid?

Am I missing the point here?

You can have custom geometry as well with WM. As far as paint, they're almost all unique as that too is chosen when orderedas they arrive from Italy raw, but for something like what I have it takes a lot more time and effort from design and paint. To say you can have anything custom painted is true, but you'd be looking at a minimum of £350 from any decent shop with truely custom going well beyond that.

Funny how people can think a 110mm stem looks long on a bike that size. Id say 100mm stems on a bike that size are the shortest that should be on there, you do get a lot of people riding around on short stems on frames that are a bit big for them. That saddle to bar drop looks bang on for a frame that size too, I'd agree the hoods look rotated round a touch too far, but that's the chap's personal preference.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought when built, cos of the finishing kit choices and flat black of the wheels, it's notto my taste, but the only thing I would have said would have improved the look of it is asking them not to put Massive Attack on the top tube at all or that 'rare british custom' on the chainstay. (and reduce the size of the WM a lot on the Fork)

Edit: Major improvement in looks would be to at least get rid of the fugly Shimano chainset, a rotor one would look better, something black.

Massive Attack are a great band though and in WM's defense they (M.A) did sing 'The hymn of the big wheel' 8)

Finally got a chance to ride the Massive Attack today. Couldn't be happier. :)

It's a fantastic bike, light, stiff, and agile, but still incredibly comfortable. Really lively and it just made me want to attack everything.

So the Massive Attack is almost ready. Still need pedals and cages, but coming in at 6.1kg with heavy-ass Conti tubs.

    That looks really great!

Pink looks a lot better balanced by the black finishing kit and wheels that it did when you just showed the frame

    +1

Completely agree. It looks lovely... the black finishing kit balances very well with the bold and brash frame.

I got a bit of a bargain on the frame as it was an unused Team UK Youth bike so that was 1750. Paint was 750 but that was everything from design, to stripping down raw and repainting. The paint job is absolutely top knotch and probably added quite a few grams to the overall weight.

  • I had heard good things about them by all who owned them . Then a friend told me his has developed 4 cracks in it. 4!!

It was not a small defect that could be fixed. It was a complete right off. Shame as they look good. Thats all I would need to be put off one.

I have never commented on a forum before as I do not believe it is the right thing to do in my position. However, I can tell you with confidence that the thread started as quoted, is quite simply and categorically untrue. Each of our frames is hand made to order, we get to know each customer as they visit us at length for their fit, so if a crack formed in a frame we would be the first to know. The customer would also be aware of the lifetime warranty. To date the only cracks we have had in frames have been crash damage and one incident of a 'Foo Fighter' frame having its top-tube compressed in a work stand. We are a small company, very small. I could tell you about every single frame we have ever made. The notion that there is one of our customers out there silently suffering with a written off frame with 4 cracks is quite preposterous. Enough said I think, had to say something. Opinions are great, we love them - we know we're a Marmite brand. Untruths are uncool, really uncool. .

  • Once had a Wyndymilla rider have an absolute strop as he punctured in a race (circuit, fowlmead, Kent) and tried to take one of my mates spare wheels, as you were allowed a lap out to fix/replace a fault on the bike. He had full pink gear and bike and looked/acted ridiculous, been put off ever since, just a bit too twee for me, Jamie Oliver would have a wyndymilla, if you know what I mean.

I exchanged a few choice words with the Rapha/JLT team manager when I was marshaling a race as he was being a twit, but you don't see me boycotting Rapha...

Me too :) You'd love WyndaMIlla as well then, cos they have a similar logo to Pot Noodle.

In fact, you could go for a ride on your WindyMilla, then sit down with a Pot Noodle, flick through a copy of Viz then maybe watch an episode of Danger Mouse.
