Hi
I've been looking at the Wyndy Milla brand of bikes i.e Massive Attack and Lightening seed - I've read a couple of glowing reviews but have any of you guys bought from them and what sort of experience did you have??
Worth the money or is it just the old 'exclusivity' and personal touch adding to the expence?
I know the graphics aren't everyones cup of tea - but what are the bikes like compared to the 'off the peg' brands??

I've never ridden one myself but I''ve ridden and raced alongside members of the MG Maxifuel Team on a few occasions and the Massive Attack bikes look pretty nice and seem well finished. Decals are a bit marmite but in team colours I actually like them. I've asked a few of their riders how they rate the bikes and they seem to like them (though they probably have to say that).
Not sure if you've already read this:

Hi Jordan
Thanks very much for that - yes that's one of the reviews I read - love the look of the bike and a great write up!
I have been in contact with them recently and I must say I was really impressed with thier response.
The graphics for me make a change from the usual sterile designs, but as you say it's a marmite thing.
Would be good to hear from an actual owner on here
Cheers

Hi,
Likewise on these guys - I spoke to them today over the phone and plan on visiting them tomorrow, they mentioned I could potentially take one out for a spin.
I personally think they look amazing and the fact you can personalise the finish is a bonus.
I will report back...0 -
Strange as I was just considering picking one up myself...
Let me know what you find and if they'll whore out a Massive Attack SL :PEnglish Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -

Had a 'cake stop' there today on my ride.
Their club riders were in the shop as well.
Nice bunch of folks, Cool bikes and gear.
Well worth a visit.0 -
Ok apologies forgot to post back and just back from the L2B.
So I did not get to ride one, however I spent a good hour chatting to the bike designer about options to which there are plenty.
Discussed tidying up the front cables with an almost all internal solution and also moving the rear brake. In regards to the graphics you can do whatever you like, you do not have to have any logos if you wish.
I am that impressed with them that I am going to stage 2, a bike fit/measurement to get one ordered.
Hopefully there will be something to test when i go back on the 1st.
I love the fact that when your finished you will never see another one exactly like your own.
So far they seem spot on with their customer service and I can't wait for the fitting.
Ill report back when I have finished the fitting.
Can't wait and very excited.0 -
Hi
Been waiting for your reply!!
Glad it went well - totally agree on your comment about each bike being a one off!!
For me also I'm fed up fighting with the off the shelf bikes - everyone I have bought I have had niggles with.
Guess I am am either unlucky or just a funny shape!!! :? But with the money I have spent on trying to get things right I should have gone bespoke from the offset!!
Lesson learn't!!
Oh sent u a privvy message jamie.

Hi Guys,
Thought I would give you my thoughts.
For the last two year I have ridden a Specialized Tarmac S Works and a Specialized Venge S Works. I joined the MG Maxifuel team earlier this year and was fitted for a new team bike (Massive Attack).
Being a bit of a creature of habit I was nervous moving onto another stead having had absolutely no issues on my Specialized bikes and enjoying what they offer.
The approach I liked about the bike fit is that it is consultative; it’s not just a case of saying we need to make your hip angle X and your reach Y etc. It is very dependent on what is comfortable (and efficient) for you as a rider. David and I (Wyndymilla bike fit Guru) spent a lot of time discussing what I wanted to get from the bike, which was very much road race fit and trying to maintain a sharp front end without compromising handling (being fairly small off the shelf bikes usually have a top tube too long and thus a stupidly short stem which can compromise handling). So my first point would be contribute to the bike fit. Tell them what you want from the bike, what riding you’re doing, how often you ride....they will ask you all these questions but start thinking about what you want from the bike before you get there!
I joined the MG Maxifuel team late in the day and so picked up my bike the day before the first National Women’s Series race on a Thursday before Good Friday, with a quick spin up the road on the day (Literally in jeans and trainers!) and then a few laps warm up at hog hill on Good Friday many would question if that was enough time to give the bike prior to a big race. The beauty of a bike fit, and a custom made frame specifically for you is that the time it takes to get used to it is almost instant. Apart from a few touch points (I had a team saddle and bars) the bike and its fit felt spot on. We used some of the geometry from the S Works and mirrored it onto the Massive Attack; mainly because the measurements fit very well for me and I was having no issues with injury, reach, handling etc; you don’t want to make drastic changes unless of course your current setup is way off the mark.
It handles well having just taken the bike through the Johnson Health Tech Tour Series which is incredibly technical (albeit I did crash on Thursday but that’s rider error!), its quick and responsive out of the corners and isn’t holding me back in sprints on the flat or uphill (The engine could do with some work mind!). I know my team mates share similar experiences to me and these are the palmares of the bike from the girls squad this year:
• 1st & 3rd Women’s National Team Series round 1
• 1st, 3rd, 5th, Women’s National Road Race series round 1 (Stage 1)
• 2nd Women’s National Road Race Series round 1 (Stage 2)
• 1st , 4th, 9th Women’s National Road Race Series round 1 (Stage 3)
• 2nd, 5th, 8th Women’s National Road Race Series round 1 (GC)
• 1st & 6th Women’s National Road Race Series round 2
• 6th & 9th Women’s National Team Series round 2
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series R1 1st & 7th
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series R2 1st & 2nd
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series R3 1st, 3rd & 6th
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series R4 1st & 5th
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series R5 6th
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series Overall individual winner
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series Overall Team Winner
• Johnson Health Tech Tour Series Overall Sprint jersey winner
• 3rd Women’s National Road Race Series Round 3
• The Milk Race 2nd and 6th
• IG London Nocturne 1st (eventually!)
So in a nutshell the bikes are assisting us to do some great things! They are comfortable on longer rides as well as sharp and responsive on the road racing scene. I did the Medio Fondo at the Dragon Ride last weekend; 130km and 1900mtrs of climbing; no issues over that duration, no pain, no aches and a delight to ride. It’s a racing bike, a training bike and a good sportive bike too! But the fit/design is specifically aimed at it being race ready so that wouldn’t necessarily appeal to someone who is doing longer mile sportive week in week out.
I highly recommend a Massive Attack (Or a Massive Attack SL if you don’t race as it’s not UCI legal (too light) so for example if I had the bike it couldn’t/shouldn’t be used at the National level road races), the bike fit and custom build is a key part to this bike being such a success.
If ever you’re at an event where me/the team are there come and say hi and take a look at the bikes.
Can’t wait to see what those of you who are going to buy one think of it; let us all know.
Thanks

Non- racing feedback.
After years of buying form Sigma, which is our LBS, we recently bought a house down near WyndyMilla. So when we started looking for another bike for the other half we went there.
Very friendly bunch, lots of trips, a bike fit and a test ride later we decided to get a custom fitted Lightning seed, and went for aluminium not carbon. Took a good few more visits to spec and decide on the colour scheme. But are more than happy with the rest. The frame is better than a lot of low end carbon ones I have seen and looks fantastic. Other half loves the bike and finds it far more comfortable than the others, so a result there.
Yes they are not the cheapest, you cna buy from wiggle if you want a cheap bike. But if you want service, a custom fit and good advice I would recommend visiting them and deciding for yourself. From our point of view it was definately a good decision and I am seriously tempted by a Massive Attack for myself.....0 -
Bought it today instead. Should be ready in a couple weeks. It's nice that they photographed the team bike with my wheels on it so at least I know what it's going to look likeEnglish Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

Well its great to get some feedback from the team and personal users.
Sounds like I am making the right decision - i am a little excited but the colour scheme is going to cause me endless sleepless nights...
Well done Karla and team - really sticking it to the wiggle lot!

Just googled Krink - like your style0

Mate if they can pull that if it will look very special indeed0

So Grill... how much help do they give you on the design?
I am thinking of going along with my ideas an inspiration and letting them get on with it.. ( i am no designer...)
Krink - i must be the most useless googler - someone hit me with a link?
Bought my fit forward to saturday as i cant let you have all the fun!0 -
They have an in house designer that can sort out the look for a small fee.
This gives you an idea of what I'm going for although the effect won't be as pronounced.

Crap that will look awesome in pretty much any colour.
What are you going for colour wise?
I am thinking of avoiding the usual Carbon and going BIG AND BOLD....
Not sure if I am brave enough for this though..

I'm going black into white and back to black. I bought their last pro team frame which is white but I hate white saddles and finishing kit so this seemed like the best way to sort it.
A buddy of mine was trying to get me to go fluoro green, but I don't think I could stomach it! I'd totally go pink though...English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0
