Such a shame Wiggo has had to drop out. I was really looking forward to seeing how he would go on a stage like this.

I think Nibs and Evans will come first and second.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

    Cuz it's a TT 'innit

    And its uphill!

I find even the flat, fast, technical ones drab. Just not my thing and not sure it makes for good televisual viewing unless of course it's the last stage of an epic race and the two favourites are seperated by 1 second and it's all guns blazing time. Never wanted to ride a TT either. I'm also a miserable b*stard.

Sky have just posted a photo of Uran on a TT bike on their facebook page.... I'm wondering if it's from the earlier TT as I would have expected riders to be on road bikes, maybe with TT bars.

Looks like most are, but some riders have road bikes with clip TT bars & a few going full TT bike set up (Boaro in 3rd on a TT bike)
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Doh - Pirazzi starts his time trial late, because his team had the time wrong.

D Cataldo Sky new fastest time 46:10 - looks like his time might stand for a while then? Not sure if anyone else near this start time is a mountain/TT specialist.

Looks a bit like Roubaix - old school. Shouldn't be overly steep. Can't find anything about it on line, but these 450m-550m velodromes are ususally around 30Degrees, compared to the indoor "Olympic" style 42Deg (London) or 45 (Glasgow) - 250metres.

Is it just me, or is this not rather dull?

No peleton, no tactics, no attacks, no breakaways, no lead-outs, not even a feed zone!

Where's that thing which shows the names of each rider as they progress past the time splits, or is that only for the Tour? It's not on yahoo sport.

Check out page 1, some nice user posted a pic of him getting ready to go & of him out on the course.

In fact he tweeted this morning that the two words feared by any sprinter are uphill and timetrial (assuming one classes Timetrial as one word of course)

Good Lord, there's a mini peleton at last.
