This was his 'part' of the course. The descending part - right, Rick..

Nibs like he's going to come up short and that early technical section should have suited him.

While Wiggo did a nice job bringing that time gap down, this was his day to put minutes into everyone. Not seconds.

I had Wiggins being 3 mins up on Nibs, 1.5min up on Ryder after this stage. Instead he's going to have a lot of GC riders ahead of him. If he gets a podium he's going to have to show us talents he's never had before. A win will be extraordinary.

After this week, I think it's likely he'll be low top 10.

Hearing rumours that, as well as changing his bike, when cameras weren't on him Sir Bradley Wiggins was attacked by a herd of rhinos!

Sky says Wiggins is not sick, contrary to Twitter hearsay, he didn't crash on course. Found it hard to get a rhythm in first sector but OK.

RAI are doing some nice split-screens of Nibali vs BW cornering technique. Chalk and cheese. Are these shown on ES too? Is it the same feed?

The first part being less time trial and more hill climb therefore negating time trial skills so to speak. That's why even though it is a long TT as inner ring noted in his preview it featured enough climbing to help those not so suited to a TT retain some time

And when you mix that with the commentary... I'd switch over to the Dutch commentary on my TV but I'm tired and I really have to concentrate to follow and its the weekend. :P
