Hello from Cervia. I'm going to have a short stop-off in Cesenatico for Il Pirata, then will probably head for final kms of stage.
Very tough looking finish, including 9% last km. Ouch!
Start list (local times):
http://gallery.mailchimp.com/823d3a40b51c82f60f316baa5/files/Ordine_di_partenza.1.pdf
Brits (local):
Millar 12:19
Blythe 12:20
Cummings 12:38
Dowsett 12:48
Cavendish 13:14
Wiggins 15:08
Brad's first catch will be Danilo Di Luca (what a w#nker, unbelievable)
Weather could play a big part, scattered thunderstorms forecast in the afternoon:

Not great weather for painting roads :-(

Henao starting two minutes away, any chance he'll go easy for the first half then help Wiggo draft as he comes past0

Thunderstorms forecast for 4pm IT local time, Wiggins better be done by then or he really will be done!!0

If that forecast time is correct it might almost make Wiggins time loss yesterday look clever"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
I'd like to see what Dowsett can do in this, very promising rider, I hope he isn't made to go easy as he is on domestique duties and they let him have a play.0

The weather could make this even more exciting than it promises to be. Can't wait for this. Which Wiggins will turn up?0

Never in all my days has the prospect of a TT been so tantalising, the weather and the profile will make for some great race faces. I just hope Wiggins hasn't thrown in the towel already. If he does show some form and gain some time then this race will really be on!0

It doesn't look good!

If the rain does come down hard around 4pm then that could throw a big spanner in the works. It will mean Wiggins has almost an hour on a relatively dry course whereas the likes of Evans, Nibali and Hesjedal will basically be riding in the wet from the start.0
-
Didn't that forecast say thunderstorms at the 12:20 start, clearing by 17:00?
Yesterday, Wiggins didn't trust his cornering before it got wet or even steep, regularly losing his place in the bunch. Wet,twisty roads with some downhill are going to be a nightmare on a TT bike if he's still suffering from whatever ails him....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Yeah Sky should really take a look at him
OK I need to go and do my chores so that I can watch this. I am excited! Never thought I'd say that about a TT

Very interesting tactics from Team Sky for today's timed trial. I just knew Sir David Brailsford would come up with something! #Giro

Sir David has picked Henao to start at 3.06pm, Sir Bradley at 3.08 and Uran Uran at 3.09. Very clever timed trial strategy. #Giro“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Right, Brad. No messing. Shift that bloody bike. Say something rude to Di Luca as you blow by him, just for good measure.0

^ This.
And, hoping life imitates 'art', I'm hoping this turns out to be not so much of a parody

Just got round to watching stage 7. I was hoping Wiggos cautious decent was due to his supreme confidence in his ability to monster the TT. However, he looked like he was cacking it and had no self belief and he's been leaking time all week.
Seems weird to big yourself up for the the TDF and Giro double if you have no form. Presumably with all Skys number crunchers they must know where he's at power wise...unless he has got the trotts like others have suggested.
Still at least it makes the TT and the rest of the race more interesting. Hopefully the weather and his inner chimp will hold up and he'll crush it.0 -
Current stand at the first time checkpoint:
1 Sergent (RLT) 37:38
2 Belkov (AST) +0:04
3 Cataldo (SKY) +1:07
4 Gruzdev (AST) 1:51
5 Steegmans (OPQ) +2:02
6 Bulgac (LTB) +2:03
7 Haas (GRS) +2:11
Bobridge is surprisingly only about 12th at +3:17, and Millar only a fews secs faster than him.
Seems the sun is shining at the moment at Gabicce Mare, but the thunderstorms, if they come about 3 pm local time as forecast, will be closer the finish at Saltara than at Gabicce.0 -
Dowsett has just gone quickest, 1:18 up on Sergent!0

I'm saying Wiggo to smash 4 mins into his rivals?
Is that a bit over-optimistic?0 -

I can't see it. It's not as if Evans and Ryder are horrifically bad TT ers. I think Wiggo might put between 1 minute and 1min 30 into them. It's not the perfect course for him.0 -
Not sure there will be pics anywhere as yet. Here is a ticker feed though...
