... And where do you ride?

Ride Oldham/Rochdale at the moment, building up after a lazy year.

    Me :D

If I'm going for a shorter ride, I usually go around Greenmount-Edenfield-Helmshore-Rawtenstall.Been into Rochdale a few times. I spend a lot of time in Belmont and Rivington as theres some nice roads (not too busy) and the hills range from nice to pretty hard.
This is one of my favourite routes http://www.strava.com/activities/47512211

grl - think your geography is a little off there, that is more like North/North East Cheshire :D

Originally from Cheshire, now living in Cumbria, ride mainly around Cumbria.

Tend to ride your way, to Hebden Bridge and Ilkley. Or head south to Pott Shrigley or Macclesfield.

    I'm based in west Manchester.

During the week I don't ride too far and will usually do a 20 mile loop up to Bury and back or further west towards Culcheth. There are some nice quiet country lanes there and riding along the cycle path next to the East Lancs isn't too bad, it's fairly smooth.

During the weekends I like to head to Rivington or head south to Cheshire. The longer rides on the weekend can be up to 60 miles depending how I feel.

    Warrington here...

Tend to ride wherever i point my wheel at the moment :)

Did a lovely ride at the weekend up through Burtonwood/St Helens/ Billinge (Parbold hill etc)

Also quite like going the other way heading up to Delamere / Malborough Country Park / Great Budworth etc..

Having started road riding in the winter and loving it, I can safely say this weekend just gone of "nice"ish weather has been phenomenal! Definitely found the hobby for me :)

Based in Kendal, so either South Cumbria (Lythe valley, Furness coast, around Windermere/Hawkshead/Coniston etc) or head down to North Lancs, Forrest of Bowland or over to yorkshire Dales - Sedbergh, Settle, Dentdale etc.

Furthest south from here would be the ride I did Easter Sunday when I went to Dunsop Bridge via Jubilee Tower and the Trough of Bowland, and back via Slaidburn, Wray, Hornby etc.

To be honest I don't get into the Lakes as much as I should, given it's on my doorstep - I prefer the quieter roads of North Lancs and North Yorks, sometimes the roads around here are just too busy to enjoy that much. I do vary my commute home from Ambleside to Kendal quite a bit, especially now the evenings are lighter and I can get a good 30/40 mile circuitous route in after work.

Should go over to Rammy rake for your hill repeats. It's that steep it has a hand rail seen a few people doing them up there

The Rake is good but I just want to focus on longer power sustaining (around 10-15 mins) rather than a 3 minute burst of high power low cadence up the rake ( for now at least). Thanks though :)
