What is it about being born in Colombia that makes you look 10 years older than you really are?

Most of them grow up in grinding poverty and real hardship. Henao and Uran certainly did, with Uran's history being particularly harsh. Not totally conducive to helping them look like Justin Bieber

True. Uran had a particularly tough early life, father was murdered, forcing him to go out to work young to support his family.

I also wonder whether living at altitude makes you age prematurely?

Not to my particular taste but Uran especially has a fairly loyal female fan base - that sort of Benicio Del Toro look has appeal. Women, eh?

Oh my goodness these commentators are doing my nut. Cav was nowhere they say. Ummm he was on the right hand side and grabbed fifth or something after getting squeezed out.

    Cav an unhappy bunny

In fairness, it was really hard to make out who was who. And the blue jersey looked very similar to some of the rain capes.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Is that picture from this week? He's had those braces on for a year at least. How long are they meant to be on?

"Tonight, we’ll just talk about my feelings and see what everyone thought,” Cavendish explained."

No, you bloody well won't! Man-up and get on with it. It is just one stage in one race and it's a bit early in the year to start throwing the toys from the pram. Complaining about his new team-mates in the press isn't going to help things improve, either.

More importantly, what's the story with Rigoberto Uran's crash helmet?

"I tried to do my normal sprint but when I stood up, I had to sit down because my legs went 'boom'," Greipel explained after taking a hot shower on the Lotto Belisol team bus.

"I think we all felt the same after five and half hours in the rain. The conditions were pretty tough and I'm still shaking with the cold. Some riders can handle it better but I couldn't today."

"We did a good job as a team and everyone was there. I know I can always count on the guys.

"I didn’t have the legs I usually have in a sprint. I'm just a human being and that's the way it is. Tomorrow is another chance and we'll give it another try. Hopefully it will work better."

16km to race. Flecha off the front. Lots of classics riders testing their legs in these two races.

    Sagan wins.

Cavendish was behind him, maybe got 2nd, but wasn't strong enough and left it too late.

MTN in the top 5 I think.

Well Sagan just beat Cav in a sprint. Cav's finished as a sprinter.

Wonder who Cav is going to moan about today, Goss for pushing them wide round that right hand bend?
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

    Sagan, Cav, Greipel, Ciolek, Goss.

Sagan came through like a power house and over hauled Greipel.

Beautiful, complains about his teammates once in a 5 year career winning top races and now it's his "thing".

Sagan mixing it up in a bunch sprint the week before MSR... Exciting.

I think its clearly that he mistimed and/or was cautious in the sprint, seemed to ease up a bit when Sagan seemed to drift at one point. He was travelling faster than Sagan at the end, 5 more metres and Cav would have got it. But that's sprinting, so much more than just who is the fastest.

Fair play to Sagan there. I know I shouldnt be surprised by anything this guy does but taking on and beating Cav and Greipel is impressive.

It was meant as a joke - the day before he was laughing with the interviewer boasting that they had the best team and Tony Martin in the early lead out didn't need to ride any harder as they had it in the bag.

Handbags down please I am a big fan of Cav and his heart on sleeve approach.

But just to clarify he has only been at QPQS for a few weeks & he has had a go at his team before for not supporting him. But you see Griepel going straight up to Sagan and congratulating him for the win & Cav appears to be gone off not happy at his team again as he didn't win.
