  • EVANS single handedly nearly pulled the four back

43 secs to them then 47 to the rest

The guy from AG2R and the OPQS boy were pulling too. Froome looked cooked.

Just a question but how black are Nib's eyes, just watching the interview and he looks like he has no pupils as they are all black. Then again probably the camera compression from the host to Eurosport.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

That is the sort of racing you get when there is no team to spoil the fan's enjoyment. Pure mano a mano.

    FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE

Glad I am a Nibali backer. Heavyweight.

I hope the shark gets the win tomorrow.

Sky got smoked. No tetxbook can control this. Bang bang bang.

Froome had spent a lot of energy getting back onto that group on his own, so it wasn't surprising... and Evans did a good turn but you're right, he didn't do that on his own.

Do you think J Rod could have sprinted any slower there?

Classic Nibali there. Even when he knew Nibali would be driving it on at the front Froome was just hanging at the back of his group.

Froome 34 secs back from Nibali. Can that be pulled back in the TT? Purito ahead of Contador as well.

So FF you agree then that it's up to the other racers to stop the Sky Train, not that it's Sky's fault for having one!

    Good...

A great, if rather outlandish stage.
Nibali proves he's a classy racer.
    Froome proves vulnerable.

Cycling would be in a bad state if we didn't get proper racing on a course like this.

And boy did we get proper racing. Best stage of 2013 so far.

If he doesn't win the TT I take it you'll be criticising him for winning without panache?

Again, he'd previously put in a big effort to bridge to the other two.

Just watching the slowmo replay of Sagan crossing the lines and kissing his guns - making my chuckle there

LoL, Sky fan boys all confused. Why is Froome not at the front? Becuase he had no team to do his work, the plan failed and he has no legs to ride, no heart to hit the front and no balls to descend like fire.

That was one of the toughest stages of racing I think ive ever seen.

Nibali - great ride, brave an intelligent.

    Sagan - words cannot describe.

Effort by Froome to try and get back on alone, just didn't have the legs to drag it back.

Contador off the podium, looked pretty cooked in the last 7km - might possibly get third place back in the TT (I know J-Rods TT is pretty poor but then it is only 9km)

Great race. p*ssed all over Paris-Nice.

Sagan is just a monster.. how can he win a sprint against Cav and Greipel.. and then be there for this finish today?!?

    defies all logic!

Never mind that - Hushovd came in 9th

Damn, that was good fun! I love selective stages that don't necessarily end with an uphill sprint. Small groups that are a few seconds apart chasing each other on a flat run-in seconds apart is way more exciting!

You re hilarious you really are - The highlights have just shown Astana and Cannondale trains pulling the break back and setting up the win and second place, yet you have the gall to suggest that Sky are boring because they ride with a train?

Froome pulled himself inside out to get back up to the group, that contained your hero, on his own, yet he was somehow has no balls

Seriously, Specsavers could nt sort out your blinkers....

Nibali a decent TTer though not as good as Froome/Contador . Now time to go and hunt up the profile for tomorrow...

Nick Bull's worked out that Froome needs to make up 3.5secs/km on Nibbles tomorrow

Be fair, Contador was 15s off the front of that group.

But you're right. I don't think many riders would have the legs to pull that gap back after bridging across on their own.
