They're pretty rare to find in decent condition and expensive. I doubt i'll ever drive one but I can hope

He is one lucky motherf*cker! They only stopped making mk 2 golf GTI's in south africa a couple of years ago but I dont know about the delta...Perhaps a granny bought it and only used it to go to the shops down the road in. It's the case with a lot of old sporty hatchbacks still in good condition.0 -
The best I've owned would be a toss-up between the 205GTi 1.9 that I used to tool around in, and the bareshell MKII Escort 2.0, with lightened balanced bits, proper suspension & brakes, and not much more. That was a fun car, and competitive too. And the Series II Land Rover that used to give me headaches & empty wallet syndrome on any journey over 20 miles.
A pal of mine had a Ford Anglebox with the Cortina 1500GT running gear in it back in the 70s. That was a load of fun.
You could pick any bonkers modern supercar as Like-To-Have, but for a bit of quirky fun I'd have to own a Lotus Cortina MK I and / or a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus before I curl my toes up.0 -
Yes, all very nice, good for posing I suppose, but I would want something that grunts, roars, goes like the wind....and looks like a real car: ie one of these...0

ahh the cobra for me its always been about the coupe, same with the e type.

The most beautiful car ever built was the Bugatti Atlantique Coupe
(better lines in dark Blue)
I had:
A metallic Blue XR2
A Rover Vitesse V8 - only goo for straight lines and many other cars. I have a friend with a Super Mirafiori 2 door twin cam and he's willing to sell it to me...Always reminds me of the East African Safari Rally when it was a proper 2000 mile grind and the Mirafiori's and their 8 Cibie spotlamps came roaring back into Nairobi at twighlight. Even the those memories raises the hairs on the back of my neck. Fiat never ran works SuperMira's in Kenya, they were all privateers.
I would love a pre 66 E-Type or an XK140 roadster or a '69 Mercedes 300SL... one can dream.
But the best of all was the W123 Mercedes. The best saloon ever built. This is mine after i restored it, before I sold it sob sob, sniff:

Out of cars I've owned, my current Subaru Impreza sportswagon....wagon so no big spoilers (although I do like them)
It's an 05 and had it since 2006. A few tweaks to get it to 335bhp/lbft torque and its a lot of fun.
As for dream cars..Porsche GT2 RS, Nissan GT-R....Pagani...too many!!0 -

My first car, a Madzda MX5 1.8 S. The stats and hairdresser image dont tell the full story, a pleasure to drive and own.

Bought it part finished, then rebuilt it, as it would probably have killed its self the way it had been built originally!
I'm considering getting rid of it and building another, this time with an M3 straight six in it 8)

New or old vRS???
I had a 2006 TFSI vRS hatch, the way it shifted in 3rd gear was very impressive, great for overtaking. I wad gutted when some tw@t drove in to the back of ours. Though our little Fabia vRS seems to defy what a little 130 bhp engine can do, its a gutsy old school VAG 1.9 tdi PD engine with shedloads of torque.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. Exactly that one, the 06 TFSI hatch. Going from a 1.2 fiesta to the VRs means I'm still slightly scared by full throttle in 3rd, but its such good fun, especially putting BMW 320i's to shame :twisted:0 -

Not overly familiar with them to be honest, but aren't the S versions the American derivative ? If I could get a 54 the lighter alloy block would suit the Dax better, that said I'm not sure which the new Dax is designed around.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Both are used in all M3 versions, the only issue with the BMW conversions is the EWS (immobiliser system) which means you need the whole kit. It will be a big change from the grunt of a V8 but will go like the clappers.
Ever thought of sticking nitrous through that V engine ?Living MY dream.0 -

You mean 330's My old man has an E46 M3 convertible and he struggled to pull away from me. From 40-70 the Fabia is defo quicker though you just have to time the big lump of torque just right“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired.
