As reported by richardmoore73 on twitter:
"Reporter: How much do you weigh?
Sagan: I don't weigh myself"

See, me personally, yes he's a great talent, but the victory dancing?? NOOOOOO
Its almost as cringeworthy as The Sufferfest Chamois dance!!!!!
The racing says it all Peter...leave the dancing till the victory party at some cheesy Sponsors party!!!0 -

He should have mentioned Fignon on that list. Was winning against older guys from an early age.
Fignon also won the Tour when he was 23. Uber Great.Contador is the Greatest0 -

The comments on the blog are true though. You probably need to be outstanding at that level/age to even have a chance at turning pro.
Comparing Sagan's palmares to that of Boonen or Cancellara at the same is interesting. Neither Boonen nor Cancellara had anything worth talking about by this stage. Though, it's better to review a career towards the end than at the beginning.
I should really update this thread.....might wait til after this race today“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
Didn't Boonen top 3 a Paris Roubaix in his USPS days, an edition which predictably Museeuw won?
Has to be a common feat. Getting into the WT itself requires huge talent. Something that can be taken for granted till it's apparent how good these guys are when they drop out of the pro tour and into the continentals (like an in form Oscar Pujol in Indonesia, in July, not December).
ETA- June rather than July.0 -
You also need to remember that lots of guys have been very successful at Junior level, only to struggle at pro level.
Of course there are exceptional guys like Fignon, and now Sagan who do continue to dominate, but success at Junior level is no guarantee of future success.
Some 16 year olds are more physically developed than most 18 year olds, so they seem incredibly strong at that age, but once they are all fully grown the differences often disappear."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

I do like the story mentioned in the comments about winning a race on his sister's bike. Although, to be fair, it doesn't mention what she rode. Hopefully it was some £199 supermarket beast with a basket on the front. It'd be a tad less impressive if she owned an ultra-light, top of the range job.0 -
Wish he'd wear a proper national champs jersey. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0
