Didn't he monster a descent in the Giro (2011) and chased down Cunego for the win? It was like a class in descending.

It was the Tour de Suisse, but yes, it was a phenomenal ride. Possibly one of the most exciting race finishes in recent years with some extraordinary footage of the descent from the camera bikes. I actually felt sorry for Cunego that day, 99 days out of 100 he would have won that stage.

Is that not Chasey in the World Champs outfit as well?

Check. Cunego's move and descending was still a very fine performance in and of itself.

Love this stage for the Eigerwand menace as well as the frequent clenches on the descent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtpQ_7Bj ... ults_video

Also the name "L'equilibriste" is a little more appropriate for this chap than Peter.

  • How about 2010 and 2011? Paris Nice as a neo pro was absolutely unreal.

Have some seriously good photos of this fella. Lets start with the most recent:

nice pic - Carlton Kirby said "what does this celebration mean? I like dancing with big people??..." well it made me smile.

Suspect there are many here discovering a latent fascination with Sagan's stones.

What do you do? I dabbled in Earth Sciences before I became a captain of industry

When I go on holiday I still look out for interesting rock formations, faults, dip, strike, etc.

Popped into Smith's today & saw Sagan on cover of Pro-Cycling, interview in Road Cycle(?) mag. Hope he does well in the rest of the season as he's going in my Cobblestone fantasy team :)

    We are not worthy!

Funnily enough I read part of one of my old geology books the other day, which I haven't opened for 10 years. It might as well have been written in Chinese for how much I can remember!

Sorry to continue the OT comments, but Oman truly is a geologist's paradise! I go out there once a year to do some oil-related writing and I get to speak to a lot of geologists who all spend every available moment exploring.

I was really hoping to get out during the Tour of Oman this year and maybe take my bike for a crack at Jebel al Akhdar, but the stars just missed aligning.

As for Sagan, he's a family favourite, particularly with my 6yo lad. I still prefer Mad Thomas de Gendt myself but there you go...

This hysteria is all very well, but has nobody noticed that @petosagan (for reals  ) can't work Twitter? https://twitter.com/petosagan

That said, I'm for fomenting a grass roots fan groundswell of voices to demand that St Peter is equipped with a cape and Elvis wig for his next victory performance.
