Ratty...?
Hmmm cheese... I've still got the quince jelly left from the work Christmas hamper, sitting on my desk. Goes very well with cheese. We'd really need some port though to finish the feast.Correlation is not causation.0 -
There's still 3km to go fellas. None of you are HTC. Calm down, clam down.Correlation is not causation.0

Cavs just won again!0
-
Looks like Cavendish is still winning and OPQS are behind him 100% and doing a great job by him.
Very wide sprint run-in, no one impeded, just a test of sprinting talent.
Looks like Sky are still rubbish. Blythe reasonable - thank goodness he is with BMC. Eisel is no where. I said it earlier.Contador is the Greatest0 -
RichN95 wrote:Where the hell did he come from? I thought he'd sat up with about 800m to go.
Yeah me too, seemed to come out of nowhere, if it wasnt for the fact he was wearing yellow i would never have spotted him. Well timed again by Cav.0 -
Bleeding norah! Just chocked on a biccie! Christ, he is very very special
Tour of Cav-tar!0 -
I really thought he was too far back to win that, really impressive.
Mark Cavendish, stage race superstar!"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

Go on, Cav. He's a little genius at reading sprints.
Another complete mess of a sprint though.0 -
Cav.
Poor old Carlton couldn't see the wee scamp sneaking up on the left. He nearly got taken out about 300 m out.
Eddy Boss seemed to be leading out Eisel.
Did every team just want to have a go on the front in the last 4km?
Ahhhh some Cav and Bernie love at the end having a little chat, the bromance continues, its just long-distance these days.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Wow, he just ate them up. It's like he wanted to test himself. 'Drop back and see if I can ride up and then take the win'. Without breathing (yday the photos show everyone's face in pain and him just smiling). Was funny watching EBH balls out trying to position Sky in the last km then fading out.
Excellence in anything even packing bags is a joy to behold.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Looked like some riders tried to block him off with about 5-600 to go - he just showed his skill and speed to come from way back to take it. He really is top drawer at what he does.0
-
Cav is a genius, where did he come from?
He was so far back with about 300m to go. He's so good at using other teams and that's what really sets him apart from other sprinters. I'd love to see if Greipel could do that, I doubt he could due to his size.0 -

Other sprinters do that well sometimes, Cav just does it routinely. It's amazing.0 -

Not a size thing. He just panics and sticks his nose in the wind too early.
Cav let someone else panic and hopped on their wheel. Risky strategy if no-one goes but someone almost always rushes up the outside early.
Great win.0 -

Greipel needs a pilot fish - its why its working so well for him with Henderson. He's no good at being a hobo0 -

Yeah, it was pretty obvious that Eddy was going for Bernie. Ah, yes, Bernie and Cav - happy again.0 -

I don't think that is entirely true. BMC got 2,3,4 on the podium because of the TTT. If Sky had won the TTT then Eisel would have been higher than 5th overall. Yes Sky as a team were 'rubbish' compared with BMC, but better compared to all the other teams and Cavendish. Bet Bernie is a bit p'eed off for not sticking with the break on the first stage, but then hindsight is a wonderful thing and who's to say the race would have then played out as it did.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Again work gets in the way of me seeing anything ..... Anyone got the top 5 or 10?0

There's using someone else's train (which everyone does), and then there's the finding the one man that will unwittingly take you back to the front at the right time. Cav and Robbie McEwen are/were so good at the second.chiv30 wrote:Again work gets in the way of me seeing anything ..... Anyone got the top 5 or 10?

ATC, you're dealing with FF here. If Sky riders had made the overall podium a la BMC, it would have been 'oh well, they only managed that because of the TTT.' FF's not very rational when it comes to Sky. Prepare for every single race that they dont win to result in FF 'Sky were rubbish, nowhere' ad nauseum.0 -
