A simple question turns into a ridiculous petty argument.

For the average person it's pretty simple.

cut out the crap food, chocolate biscuits and so on. Eat a healthy balanced diet and keep the calories low, if you need an app to help you out then fine. Put in some good miles/hours on the bike.

it's not rocket science. You just need a bit of discipline.

This is a very interesting lecture, and although not directly linked to eating for training, provides some interesting background to what carbs do to our bodies, and how carb and sugar rich food has led to a lot more obesity over the last 30 years. If you have an hour to spare this evening, it's definitly worth a watch.

I personally have been trying to eat paleo over the past month, and although I've had some slips here and there, have not found it too hard to stick to. Breakfast tends to be a hard one, as I used to eat oats when I got to work after riding in, but have been having leftovers or eggs and bacon before leaving home, and fruit when I reach the office. I've been eating quite a lot of sweet potato, but am trying to keep that only to after rides, and not in the evenings too often, as it's still a starchy carb. Lunch and dinner would be meat, and vegetables/salad.

I've not weighed myself, but have lost a fair amount of weight in the short time I've been doing it. I've not restricted my portions, and haven't felt hungry. I don't think it's about eating less, but eating smarter and making the right choices.

    What are peoples exercise routine?

Just getting back into cycling after many years out of the loop, currently taking my MB to work (getting road bike soon) & going out for my 1hr lunch doing around around 8 miles) using Endomondo to keep tabs & found a nice route that has long hills to go up that are not to severe a gradient.

Any tips on getting the most out of the short time available during the week ?
