That's the shifters on the bars next to the stem - and it looks like some sort of brace for the seatstay - probably because the brake is in totally the wrong place.

Seriously, I blame the idiot 'hipsters' in London and their pathetic "old steel" craze. When you see gaspipe Raleighs and Peugeots of my youth being advertised as "classic steel bikes", like they were 753-framed team replicas, it makes me want to rip their stupid 'ironic' beards off. And none of them - not a one - can ride worth a damn. Pr1cks.

Oh bore off. If you looked at the bikes many of the 'hipsters' are riding you'd find that there are many people with ridiculously high standards of bikes, lots of high end steel all over the place. I think you're confusing them with commuters riding shit bikes because they don't know anything about them or don't care. I don't know why I feel the need to defend the fine people at LFGSS, but you are spectacularly wide of the mark with your judgement. I'd even go as far as to say that they have better taste than many bikeradar users, who seem to think that OTP carbon monstrosities with 50 massive logos are the pinnacle of cycling aesthetics.

And none of them can ride? What are you basing this on? I've seen all sorts riding terribly in London, even MAMILs/bikeradar users
