Listening to the Brexit debate and being overjoyed by the proper accents and downright good diction used by the Conservative MPs and ministers - contrasting with the rasped wailing of the inarticulate hobbledehuoys who seemingly learned (learnt?) their advocacy on this forum.

Fishface need not try to enlighten us as to the difference between diction and mere pixels.

    FTFY

And for the record it's not "hobbledehuoys" as any native English speaker would know.

From the funnily orientated plug prongs inside the box looks like was destined for Aussie market. But it was a good price.

Yeah, my stuff is coming from Spain rather unexpectedly.. I'm sure it'll be fine.

While out for a pedal today I was graced by two pheasants giving me a fly by lit up by the setting sun. For a short period all was well in the world.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Could a been a lowered Bora or such like -- all fairly much the samey looking -- box with wheels. When the wife and I pulled up behind it in our aircooled bug at the lights, both of just burst out laughing cos we're familiar with this type of knob.

Did it have the tell-tale neon 'w@nker lights'?

Not detailed -- just big so the wife recognized it straight away.

Police officers have finally been given the green light to fight back against moped criminals as Scotland Yard says they will ram suspects off their bikes even if they are not wearing helmets.

    Good.

    Good.

They should coat the bonnet of the police car with rat glue -- then all the police could just drive back to the station and peel the little rats off the car -- they'd be proper " Peelers "if they'd whack the blue lights on and take them a scoot down the motorway at 175MPH first.

I agree, but they're not ramming them hard enough. Nor did they manage to drive over any of the scrotes. Good start, but can do better :)

Being told by the car dealer that my delivery date has been delayed until late January but that they'll happily hold onto it for a few weeks once it's arrived at the dealership, so I can have it registered as a 19 plate on 1st March and avoid most of the grim weather :)

Will it be the first of March before you get this years car -- ?

I could have it late Jan but decided to wait a few weeks.

It's the newly 'facelifted' version so fortunately won't be outdated by time I get it. Apparently hasn't been screwed together yet due to a shortage of engines for that model: a 3 month lead time is standard even without any production hold ups (!)

I guess if it had been a Vauxhall then the reason given might have been 'shortage of workers' rather than 'shortage of engines'. That said, no idea if the reason I was given is truthful or just sales exec BS. No rush as I already have a car, so no problem.
