Stout cycling brogues? Well done, sir.
KLM lost my suitcase when flying to Toulouse. My cycling shoes were in the case. Lesson learned. Marmot loaned me some flat pedals and I did the first two days in the Pyrenees in my brogues. Including one very wet day.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I passed last years total annual mileage this last week, with two months still to go :) I know no-one cares but me, but it made me happy

Seen as there is still 2 months to go, do you:
    a) Go for a big total and then find that target is impossible to reach next year or
    b) Take it easy so as not to set a big target but then loose all that condition?

Ill want to push myself to go further, but I dont want to make myself miserable trying to do it, its still about enjoying the riding ultimately and where it takes me, not just drilling out the miles.

and my ass is alot more cheery now, even if it took me nearly 3 years to realise the saddle on my commuter bike was ridiculously too narrow for it

Gullible gang convinced to return to rob Belgian store and be arrested

Didier called the police, who didn’t believe the robbers would be so stupid as to return.

    But they did - twice.

The group came back to the shop at 5.30pm, an hour before the shop’s closing time.

As the police were not around, Didier convinced the men to return yet again after close of business.

On their third arrival, the police promptly arrested the gullible gang, consisting of four men and one minor.

The advert for Voxi featuring a load of 'thumbs' bobbing about in a field.

I say thumbs, but the very first ones you see look like penises, and after that the eye gets tricked into seeing them all the same. I wonder who signed that one off, makes me chuckle.

I would say to awavey go out and enjoy the bicycling, have some occasional stops for fortifying ale and pie and break in the saddle for more adventures when one is ready. Bonne chance, you!

Noticing a puncture as I'm walking past the bike at work.

Yes, still have to replace/ repair, but much better catching it at lunchtime then at 5 past 5 wanting to get home.

Oh yes it is. Hence 'lunchboxes'. Short for 'luncheon'.

Mind you, technically you could have dinner for lunch and then you'd only want supper for your dinner. Not sure what you'd get for tea mind.

Apart from very unhealthy (and probably indigestible) what's it called when the aforementioned dinner includes Pork Luncheon Meat?

I didn’t know the answer so googled it - consensus is that they are the same! That said, I’ve never actually eaten it but did have a narrow escape once in Hawaii where it was quite popular when I visited in the 1980s. Don’t know whether it still is.

  • The CBS article where us government officials are reported as saying Americans are better off than the socialist Danes. Laughter is good therapy even if the idea that Americans might believe it or the officials thought they could get away with that report depresses me.

Given the choice of America or Denmark system and country to live in I'm young with Denmark every time. Even if that makes me poorer than Americans.

My brother in law is Danish and moans constantly about the extortionate cost of living.
All imported cars (and that's 99% of them) are subject to extra tax so even a basic FraudGMNissoyotaclonewagon is silly money. Second hand one's are subject to the same tax.
There's also a lot of rules in Denmark. For example, they cannot live in their summer house. Unless it was their only home, unless they pay extra for the privilege.
That's why he's reluctant to leave Kenya and return to Denmark.
Income tax is 55% and upwards.
A very high standard of living but a very high cost of living.

Cheers me up that I'm not Danish then.
