Yeah but if the seat's still warm the surely it still stinks of his sh1t?

The most likely explanation is that the previous occupant was just in there to check if any of his bets came up. -- hence it's clean not smelly and still warm.

Finding the perfect cruising bicycle seat -- sprung -- wide at the back -- narrow at the front --

My ass ain't big but it would also suit a bigger person too. I like a sprung saddle rather than a sprung seat post cos the saddle has two springs that move with your hips when in that more upright riding position.

    'Upright' position? Like this:

Multilayered this one, but first we have to ignore the weather forecast being wrong. Again.
Ending up doing a Rapha Epic Assynt style ride. And enjoying it. Those who have seen the video will relate to the conditions.
The fact that my winter bike has been well fettled and is working perfectly in silence even though it is 7 years old.
Also enjoying the full guards keeping me dry with a new comfy saddle and 28mm tyres. Bliss.
Getting the clothing absolutely spot on. Not too hot, not too cold, and dry.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Hearing kids from the local school in a fairly middle class area of South Wales talking like they're gang members from South Central LA with not a hint of irony.

Finding out that there's a middle class area in South Wales :)

Not necessarily LA, but I can there are some in the US. From Wikipedia.

"The American Community Survey 2009–2013 noted that 2,235 people aged 5 years and over in the United States spoke Welsh at home. The highest number of those (255) lived in Florida."

And then there is Y Wladfa in Patagonia.

The last ten minutes of the Newcastle vs Montpellier match!

I’m not a Falcons fan but watching that was everything I love about rugby, 40 phases of muscular grunt and a try from one yard, bloody brilliant!!

Seen as there is still 2 months to go, do you:
    a) Go for a big total and then find that target is impossible to reach next year or
    b) Take it easy so as not to set a big target but then loose all that condition?

I've not exceeded last years total and I think my bum is indifferent to the matter.

    Oh and well done awavey.

I decided to not go for total distance this year but instead try for single ride distance targets. The top one of which I've failed to meet. Blame 2 bouts of ill health in the one year, or something. Always next year. In meantime, got a sportive this weekend, riding with daughter #2 who is kacking it about the distance while I'm more concerned about the 3C temps forecast for the morning.
