Along with how every single geographical location on Poldark is reached from another by travelling across a cliff top or even a beach. Makes me chuckle.

It burns. It's what gets deposited in your flue that may be an issue.

Three years old there is no sappy stuff left. Think of all the softwood the Scandinavians burn without buying their houses down.
The moisture evaporates, but not the resin. The stuff the Scandinavians burn is cut in winter when the sap content is at its lowest. And a lot of what they burn is birch. It won't burn the house down but you will get a lot of tar build up.

seems to be a lack of consensus on sap content in logs a few years old. either way you have persuaded me to get the chimney swept

:) My parents replaced their log burner with a gas stove after setting the tar in the chimney alight three times in a year.

Then they moved house and reverted back to a log burner, albeit a much more advanced one. :|

TBF, that's not far off for the far west of Cornwall; not sure if that is where the Poldark stories are set.

    Nice!

But is it only me that reads Donhou and thinks of cheap Chinese open mould carbon?

  • Needs two people to help; they only deliver on weekdays and all my mates live in London.

    *.

But you've been there ages? How can you have failed to make any friends yet? Oh.....

This justifies promotion to this thread as it sums up RC perfectly and reading this made me

I'd a custom bike built a few years back. You can't beat a good custom build.

Top work. He built me a custom frame 4 years ago, best bike I've ever ridden.

    What have you gone for?

The frog that just appeared in the lounge last night :D

Must've hopped up 2 steps and in through the open french doors, made it's way through the dining room, up the hall and into the lounge then under the sofa where it lurked until we were settled in front of the telly. How it managed that without the dog noticing I have no idea, but when it hopped onto the rug in front of the fireplace my wife certainly did! Cue a lot of shrieking while I was able to do the manly thing and catch the bugger as he was heading under the logburner, and evict him onto the front lawn.

This! I don't know if anyone here is old enough to remember Tarzan (when played by Ron Ely). Every time Tarzan hollered his call, there was the same clip of elephants stampeding, leopards jumping out of trees and lions running through the jungle - every single week.

Films that finish with a "The End".
None of this sitting through 1/2 hour of credits for a 30 second scene at the real (reel? ) end.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Alright chaps. I've gone for the DSS4. The standard 56cm is almost like it was designed on my fit numbers. Lovely stuff. Very exciting.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who noticed that, quite a lot of American kids programmes in the 70’s used to use the same clips over and over again, The Banana Splits were particularly bad for this!

The Banana Splits were ace, at least I used to think that when I was about 7. Then I re-watched an episode or two a few years ago and it was pants. That said, I used to to think that Dr. Who was scary when I was 7.

I had pretty much the same experience watching the Banana Splits on YouTube, to quote Don Henley on the Boys of Summer...
