Is this one of those 'pay what you think it's worth' arrangements?

You should have asked before making the commission ;)

Though apparently even when people help draft legal documents and sign them, sometimes they argue they don't carry legal force when they change their mind later...

I might let you off this one, as a gesture of goodwill, and as my memory of the end of the tune might have been faulty.

Enjoying a good book. Although, after reading about 3/4 of "The Picture of Dorian Gray" I've decided that the title needs to be changed to " Three Very Disturbed Men" . I am enjoying it though.

One of the best posts/tips that I have read in ages!
To my shame I did not know this was available. 😱

Eons ago, we used to get chocolate biscuits wrapped in a rectangular purply blue foil.
For some reason, folks in the family would take the wrapper off carefully and smooth it out using a finger nail.

Wind the clock forward 35 years after I got a book out of storage - 'Now we are seven' to read to the girls and out dropped one of these perfectly 'ironed' wrappers from the middle of the book.

Alas, Tricky mangled it, not knowing it's significance.

For days, weeks even, the wind round here has been strong and southwesterly.

Except when I'm cycling into work in the morning: every single day what would have been a raging tailwind has dropped in the morning to light or literally nothing. Only to rise to a pretty stiff headwind in the afternoon.

    Until this morning.

Internet speed has been way more reliable since middle of last week.

Just read a blurb on Pez Cycling about the "Gulo Wheel System". One of the advantages of these are that they have UV protection. It's about time. All these years of dealing with sunburn on my wheels is over. It's been really hard, all these years, to get the spokes, rims, and hubs coated with SPF 50. Have had to deal with so many failures due to sunburn and skin cancer. Thanx Gulo.

UV protection for your wheels is an absolute must in the U.K. ;)

I don't know why you would buy set of Gulo wheels weighing in at 1300gms when you can buy the tried and trusted Shimano DA CL24's (previously known as the 1380's) weighing just... 80 gms more, for £1000+ less.

    UV, innit.

Watching Annamiek vV riding pretty much like I do on steep sketchy gravel! Looking like she needed a bigger rear cassette plus skinny tyres and sliding off on the soft stuff. She may have been going a wee bit faster than like wot I do. 😊

Listening to cycling podcasts a couple of days in arrears with the benefit of hindsight. Shows you how little the experts know. Ineos are really going to go for it tomorrow. 🤣🤣

    Pleased NFL is back on.

Have been surprised by how much playing NFL fantasy enhanced my enjoyment of it too.

In all honesty, this sort of thing has baffled me for years.
With rare exceptions, gaps established in early mountain stages simply get extended over subsequent stages.
And yet commentators go on about big moves to reverse the loss. How often does that happen in the TDF other than somebody blowing up.
Similarly, a rider who is down on GC gradually drops to the back of a climbing group and is obviously hanging on for life. Commentator pipes up that they need to attack now.

Commentators deliberately spin the anticipation as it's in their interest to.

I remember when Cancellara was on his 50km solo victory in Paris Roubaix, and at about 30km to go, the co-commentator said to the other "shall we stop pretending this is still a competition and start marvelling at the athletic achievement?"

Playing NFL fantasy sounds like the sort of past time involving cheer leader costumes and pretending to be the quarter back that all the girls wanted. Probably best to keep those games to yourself. Or do you mean fantasy NFL?

FWIW, I wasn't talking about commentators mid race. I was referring to "experts" predicting the next day's stage. Even further out from reality.

Doing my post run stretches against the back of my car last night and some guy went past on an electric scooter, looked at me and turned around to give me a hand thinking I was pushing the car.

I'm also getting pleasure out of a new game I've invented - guess who 'liked' Coopster's posts (I'm very good at it).

That's a curious one, because you can't "like" your own posts.

Electric scooters have just been banned again in Coventry because some have been used on a pavement. Since this could hypothetically result in some sort of catastrophe, the local authority have clearly decided that cars are safer.

Rode up (relatively speaking) and through the village where I grew up last night.

    Turns out, relatively fast too.

I wish I could show my teenage self what speed I would later be riding those roads at.
