  • Evans gets a 12-month reduction in his ban because the authorities believe he was just being a bit thick when it came to his choice of hiding place for his illegal stimulants, and he certainly wasn't taking them, oh no, game of skill, no doping here:

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/oct/03/dan-evans-banned-for-year-positive-cocaine-test

"ITF said in a statement ... that Evans bore “no significant fault or negligence”. "

Erm... Dan Evans' cocaine contaminates Dan Evans' medicine in Dan Evans' washbag. Can't see any significant fault or negligence by Dan Evans there,

Zak Hardaker is out of England’s World Cup squad after testing positive for a banned substance, the RFL has confirmed.

No idea what the drug is yet....
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

    Recreational,
If he'd tested for steroids he would probably be OK.

It's ok though. No rugby players are on steroids. NONE.

Even the RL players are totally clean. The only sport cleaner is wrestling and possibly world's strongest man on the telly.

  • Nah! Barking up the wrong tree there.

Sorry, could not resist. BTW it is interesting to hear the tone of sports that don't know they have a drug problem (as above) contrasted to sports who know they have a drug problem but are doing their darndest to not acknowledge it. Anyone for tennis?

Mo on the bbc again today but recalling a comment from July. Seems his coach may have been naughty too not just everyone he coached bar Mo.

In July he defended his record by saying he had "never failed a blood test" after hackers Fancy Bears revealed some of his samples had initially needed further testing, before later being declared normal.

I imagine that is probably true tbh, and I doubt the move has anything to do with doping.

I would tend to agree - it can't be a shock that you'd want to leave the US in the current Trump era.

Having just spent a week there I can understand that.

Surprised that no conspiracy theorist has mentioned that as he now targets long distance he's going to be coached by Paula Radcliffe's former coach (and current partner)... :D

Fun fact: The only World Record Mo Farah has ever held is for the 100m sack race. (It was broken earlier this year)

About to get ugly I reckon. Pretty much every athlete from Kenya will be under scrutiny now, with the absence of any meaningful testing program

    What do they inject? Cortisone?

Amusing that not one mention of the mechanism for allowing those injections - I think its called something no-one's heard of called a teayouee or similar? No point in mentioning that detail though, footballers get injured and need drugs, whereas cyclists or runners if they are injured and need some medical help are really doping for performance enhancing reasons as we all know.

    Anti inflammatories, usually cortisone.

He holds the World Indoor 2 mile best - although strictly not a WR as not recognised as a WR distance by IAAF. But assume 100m sack race isn't either.

The interesting point of the article for me, Mourinho states he doesn't have any problems with these injections...with apparently no interrogation/repercussion

"I am not an angel and I had players injected to play official matches, crucial matches"

But if you are Brailsford, Sutton or Sky...

    Funny old game Saint...

These injections are widely accepted in football, rugby, nfl etc.

They have been open about these injections for years, there is no trying to hide simply because it is such an accepted practice and has been for at least 10 years.

but at one point amphetamines and others were accepted in cycling. Maybe not fully legal but everyone turned a blind eye to it

If it means they can play on, punters don't care.
