contador riding like he did in the last TT of the 2010 tour, seems to keep pushing himself back on his seat every 20 seconds which cant be comfortable.

Odd to see phinney flying after he struggled a bit in the team event earlier in the week.

Dowsett's time is holding up pretty well, good ride by him I think.
  • Boo, Pinotti was going well..
  • Major shame for Pinotti. Cost him a medal.

My gamble with Contador for PTP hasn't paid off.

    Martin is blitzing it.

Looks like a better PTP for me today after picking Armstrong yesterday.

gutted about pinotti, he didn't really go through faster than the others but just didnt look very comfortable. Phinney went through much better with his right leg down.

    martin over takes contador.

Nice tow from the moto there for Martin.

Heck of a ride from Phinney on a course that isn't ideal for him.

And Phinney not THAT far back on Martin.
  • Real shame for Pinotti.

Surprised by Contador - I expected a podium from him. But when you look at Keissiakoff's gap, it seems that it's less Contador's lost a lot since the Vuelta relative to everyone else, more Martin/Phinney's on fire?

My initial reaction was "Contador's not had any beef in preparation" (which just shows what a silly state of affairs we've reached), but it's probably more "Grand Tours knacker normal people a fair bit"...

And Dowsett for a very good 8th place.

Well done to Martin. Great from Dowsett as well.

Bit of a shame that the WC will only be the second best TTer in the world - but them's the breaks - you can only beat the men on the line on the day.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Some of the triathlon guys do this - they must think it is beneficial.

nice cheek pinch for Martin from Contador, Phinney absolutely gutted.

two fantastic rides and top marks to alex dowsett for a great finish in 8th.
  • I really didn't think Phinney would have the stamina for this type of course.
Questions to be asked at BMC HQ over both his and Pinotti's Cauberg fail?
Clearly, they both had more than one eye on this.
Perhaps TJVG was a bit quick to hold his hand up for Sunday.

Almost 2 minutes between first and third.
