Hutch just set off. Can he get an early lead?

So what country is Phinney from again?

    Skinsuit too baggy

Helmet is a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the kit.
  • Be fair, the rest is a job lot off Dave Zabriskie's loft

It's raining heavily at the moment
  • Is Dowsett good enough to top 10 in that company?

At his best. But he's raced so little this year I'd be surprised if he's up there.

Would be nice to see a dominant Tony Martin today.

Yeah - he's had a fairly mixed year so far and I guess we'll never know how he would have fared had he avoided injury and some wretched mechanicals

I'd like to see the race decided by a second!

Absolutely. It needs to be tighter than a mouses ear.

That's true. A second in it until Tony Martin as last man demolishes it.

Dowsett going better at the 2nd split than at the 1st.
  • Is it a marshal or a fan who keeps walking across the zebra crossing bit near start just getting out the way? Starting to annoy me a bit!

    Phinney going rather well.
  • Good time by Gruzdev, of whom I have never heard. Phinney only 15 odd secs quicker at first check.

    Contador welllllll off the pace.

And Contador not looking good. Hutch says the 2nd half is where it will be won, but 40 seconds is a lot.
  • That is shockingly bad for him. He must be suffering a ton...

  • Martin is a better climber than Phinney but ends up under him at first check. Still a way to go.
