Oh good, 4 have broken clear. BMC Rabobank Cofidis and a n other.

Too late, they're caught even as I type.

    Oh well.

Big fire in the scrub at the side of the road. The peleton take no notice.

I'm beginning to think even I could ride faster than this...............

Chinese man on the front, briefly.

They've had no rain here. Looks like a desert.

    Cattle have calmed down now.

Oh ....... hang on.............. what's this???

Brief hiatus there as Radioshack man couldn't open his can of coke. Banged it violently on handlebars then stuck it up his shorts leg..........before throwing it away. Must be seeing things, thought it was Schleck.

I think he'll have a go at a stage win tomorrow. He still has an outside chance of the mountain jersey, which he's won the last 4 years in the Vuelta. To get a 5th jersey would put him joint most successful mountains jersey winner in its history.
A stage win, and possibly the jersey on top, would be a nice way for a nice guy to end his career.

Lotto man laughs himself nearly sick at some unknown joke............ thought he was going to fall off for a sec.
Perhaps he was laughing at this:

This morning Rodriguez and Moreno apparently had their blood controlled for the third consecutive day.
Moreno is reputed to have cheekily said to one of the doping control team

“You’ve lost the samples from yesterday and the day before, or what?”

I'm taking a well-earned break next week. End of next week.

    RAIN IS HAMMERING DOWN NOW!
    Very exciting.

    Also sun shining.

The rain in Spain is falling mainly on the plain.

If you'd ridden a little bit faster you wouldn't be getting wet now.

Though I bet many of them are enjoying the rain.

Gordon Bennett, talk about a local shower. Having pedalled on, they're out of the rain.

    Horses galloping alongside again.

    Under 40km to go.

At last some spectators in a small village.

I would have reported earlier that a lone policemen saluted as they went by, but the peleton took no notice.
  • Its raining. Wait for a Contador attack ; )

Peloton know they hit the pain cave tomorrow so are laying off.

    37.5 km to go now.

They're going through a sizeable town.

Whenever anyone uses average speeds in a GT Tour to 'prove' doping/not doping, just remember much more of the overall time was spent on days like this than racing up mountains.
