Sky and Rapha

I dislike Rapha stuff.
I like sky
But I don't buy sky stuff. I should perhaps wait to see how the kit looks. Hopefully it'll be a less boring jersey. Although I would not be supraised if it's exactly the same.0 -

If it's the 3 in 1 hats photo, that's ok, I own the hat."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Lets be honest the current Sky we can buy is shite quality. Isn't worth the money that is charged for it. Even the chinese fakes are better!
I'm sure the kit you'll be able to buy from Rapha will decent at least.
Oh well first ever Rapha purchase coming on.0 -

They are 6 years behind Rapha. Their products are just as good and half the price. That's not competition to you? That company you linked to looks like they need a new design team.
No arguments there (if you mean the web site). Rapha have been very clever in their design. Torm could certainly do with a re-model. As regards the jerseys, take it on trust they are beautiful. Clean, symmetrical designs. They are very much to my taste. While I love the Rapha bibs, gilets and jackets, the jerseys don't do it for me.Also, many people have money to buy this stuff but choose not to. I have yet to be overtaken by a rider wearing Rapha - gone past a ton though like they were standing still.
You must know my post was tongue in cheek? I'm certainly not intending to offend, but was just in the mood for a little fishing. Shall I pop you back or donk you on the head and take you home for supper?0 -

Nothing more pleasing that passing someone while I'm wearing Rapha who obviously thinks “there’s no way I’m letting Rapha boy pass me” only to drop them on a 2% hill. I enjoy the pi$$ing people off part of the brand.0 -

I don't see you on a Pina though to be fair. A rider of your class would never make the silly mistake of wearing a Team kit and not riding the Team bike!
I wouldn't wear it on the bike, just when I drive the the cafe.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I do like the Torm stuff, I prefer their prices too.0

MadRapper. Just saying that they don't have much competition, not saying it is easy and they have done a very good job. Never heard of the company you posted but will take a look.Contador is the Greatest0

Rapha must be doing well. The Adidas deal was rumoured to be worth approx $700,000 per year. I always admired Rapha for their support of the British domestic scene. I hope they can afford to keep this up.0

They are massive in the US/Canada. Andy on Competitive Cyclist has a little stiffy for their stuff0 -

Look at their sizing. If a Large will fit you then PM me your address and I'll send you one of my new ones to try. Yes I do want it back :P0 -
Why don't you support Hincapie's clothing range? Is it any good? Never looked at it.Contador is the Greatest0

It's my favouite item of winter gear. A work of genius. I've had 3 over the years and given 2 away to admiring friends."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

They're excellent, but I haven't looked at any other Hincapie stuff.
I'm quite pleased with this, as others have said, nice to see a British success story getting involved with Team Sky. I have a fair bit of Rapha gear, mostly picked up in sales, and it's the best cycling gear I've ever had.0 -
Anyone who has never been passed by somebody in Rapha kit has presumably never been in a race with Rapha-Condor riding? Would be nice if there was some link up between Sky and the Rapha-Condor team off the back of this - the latter have been heading down the rider development route anyway so should be well set up as a production line for domestic talent. I'm all for Sky supporting UK brands - the original ethos of the team was to develop British road cycling and to do it clean - no amount of wins is worth diluting that in in my opinion.0

.....in the black 'team edition' jag?0 -
Rapha's prices are sky high so it seems a good match.0

Amusing to see the vitriol aimed at Rapha, never sure why. If you don't like it don't buy it, any need to berate the company for doing something different?
No doubt when another UK cycle clothing manufacturer gets "too popular" they will be torn down too
There's somthing foxy about Vulpines range too0 -

I do love Big George
My wife bought me a Hincapie jersey as a gift. The design is nice and it's made well, but I'm a man of a certain age and I think men of a certain age should wear classy, understated clothing whilst out on the bike0 -
4 year deal apparently: http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/arti ... 013-35089/0

Since the TdeF I’ve seen kids in Sky gear – can’t see the same with Rapha kit.
However, I’m thinking of treating myself to a Rapha Softshell jacket......All Road/ Gravel: tbcWinter: tbcMTB: tbcRoad: tbc"Look at the time...." "he's fallen like an old lady on a cruise ship..."0 -
Rapha produce a lot of ltd edition stuff - some of which can be hugely expensive, some of which can be cheaper than most brands - their classics jerseys (paris roubaix, LBL etc limited jerseys) sold for about £50 which is hardly expensive compared to anyone else. The Rapha Condor Sharp team jersey was sold for £110, a bit more expensive but an identical jersey to the teams one and very well made. We don't know how much the 'sky' jerseys might sell for - they will have a product that will sell in larger numbers than anything they've produced so far so it might be much more reasonably priced than you think.0

Pretentious cycle snobbery.
