FJS, they went up the Valkenburg earlier this race.
That would be the Valkenberg. Berg means mountain in Dutch, Burg mean 'burgh' or fortified settlement or something similar.

Great final stage. Bit of spring classic racing in the summer. Seems to suit Boom better than April

Geraardsbergen has the contract to host the final stage the next 4 years - nice!
They have to sort out the other stages though. A proper Ardennes stage and a flat cobbles stage would help.

Great to see Bertie take this serious, and riding well in what must be well out of his comfort zone. Would love to see him and more of the GC riders have a go at De Ronde etc next spring.

Well that made up for the boring racing of the rest of the week. Using Geraardsbergen is a master stroke, good to hear they've got it for 4 years. A touch of the Classics in the summer, and Bertie riding on the cobbles of Belgium.
    Really enjoyed that.

  • Hasn't the whole race been spoiled by T'Olympics?
I didn't even realise it was on until the overal results appeared on cyclingnews.com!
