Blimey, don't often see that side of Fabs.

That was actually a pretty decent last 50KM.

    Just wasted my afternoon
  • Disappointed on so many levels.

Vino's too tarnished for me to regard the win as deserved, and Cav was left with nothing again. He must be desperately dischuffed after working hard yet getting nothing. Not surprising, though - I'd been predicting that sort of finish for weeks, as the other nations (as with the other trade teams in the Tour) clearly either have no faith in their own sprinters or are happy to let GB/Sky work themselves to death chasing all the breakaways.

Now Brailsford's not been able to give Cav an Olympic medal I won't be at all surprised if Cav announces a move from Sky by the end of August.

but 4 hours and a formulaic sprint would have been better?

Amazing race, and this had more entertainment and value than the whole 3 weeks of the TDF combined. One day races are always more interesting than the tour, and this didn't disappoint.

Millar is a total hypocrite too, as if he hadn't been found guilty of doping he would have just continued and wouldn't be the 'role model ex doper' he is held as by many.

Don't be daft... he's on megabucks won 3 stages at the tour, tfe worlds and a couple if giro stages. Why would he leave that? If he wants a gold he'll still have to work with DB won't he?

    What an anti climax.

so you were saying the same thoughts when millar was pushing on the front then ?

I didn't see Millar on the front for long did you? And anyway he shouldn't have been allowed to race in the first place.

I saw plenty from Wiggo, not much from the others.

Vino has always been great value, and has great variety. Winning on flat one day races, hilly one dayers, and a really great GT rider too. Excellent career from one of the most exciting riders we will see for many years. There aren't many riders like Vino anymore.
