firstly lovely bikes, and nice detail.

secondly i am sick of reading negative posts about peoples descriptions/questions ,this is a forum were most people browse because they are interested not just in the beauty of road cycling but the bikes and tech they ride .this guy has the money let him buy and build what he wants, most cyclist i know, and its alot ,would not make negative comment at each others kit or knowledge after all no one knows everything ,but if you read this forum you would think they did . read one post were someone said they were not interested in showing there bikes or others, then dont post negative thoughts if not ,and why are you looking at peoples bikes if you feel that way.

too many head spacers - etc ,etc when did we all become that bitter

great bikes, look fantastic and i bet they make you feel good, i would on them as would 99% of the road cycling community.

Get off the forum then or accept peoples opinions, if you post you open up debate. MTFU or Fuckoff basically. As I re-iterated in my post, 2 of the nicest bikes on here, no jealousy, admiration but the wording and naming is childish and inane.

Look out for the new roubaix sl4. The paint schemes look like the mclaren venge.

Nice job on the stay protection.
I don't like the McLaren paint scheme. Too much red on it. The Roubaix SL4 does look fantastic though. I'm still very happy with my SL2 n have no intention of changing it but then again.......... I might just fall head over heels in love with the SL4 when it arrives. Haha

I also do not like Specialized but for sure you have build up two great bikes over there.
Attention to detail and favoring the stealth look pays utmost attention to them.

Do not agree on Sram Red FD reviews.
I have the Red/Black group on my bike and was anxious because of the horrible reviews with the Sram FD.
I have blacked out my FD with now a totaly black cage and after some installments I must say that it shifts PERFECT in combination with my Cdale SL cranks and would put in on a par with the DA 7900 front shifting on my other bike.

The only very minor complaint with Sram Red would be the slightly more mechanical noise of the drivetrain compared with Shimano DA.

It depends on the bike it's on. The RED FD was absolutely horrible on my Venge n Roubaix. I tried an Apex FD on both the Venge n Roubaix n it was superb. 20gm penalty but it provided flawless shifting. After putting on the new RED FD on my Roubaix, I put the old RED FD on my Van Nicholas with a seat tube clamp n it works really well. I suspect it's the titanium cage of the FD being a little too flexy + it didn't really work well on the carbon seat tubes with braze ons. Mebe it all adds up to a bit too much flex. It works perfectly on my Ti bike with a clamp so I'm quite happy with the way things turned out. Now I've got 2 bikes running on RED FDs perfectly. :D

Chill guys. Chill. Everybody has a right to an opinion n that's y I wasn't offended at all. I admit I'm a bit childish coz I am a 40 year old Peter Pan who doesn't wanna grow up. I just wanna be happy n enjoy life surrounded by lotsa toys. . I know my language rubs some ppl the wrong way but that is life. Can't please everybody eh? Most important thing is that I enjoy my life n be happy. That is the most important thing for cancer survivors like me. Being happy n healthy is part of the secret to living just a lil bit longer. :D

No offence taken with the criticism. So let's get on with more bike porn shall we?

Simply Incredible bikes. Very very nice....

BUT, (dont let this undermine what i just said) why don't you just refer to them as road bikes, rather than weird video games/army bikes?

Makes you sound oh so sad.

  • ianho, they are beautiful bikes, that most of us can only dream of owning. You sound like a guy who deserves some nice toys to play with. It's good to know that you use them in anger regularly.

Come to think, my dream bike is a Van Nic, your new wet weather trainer!!

What's wrong with giving my bikes nick names? I can't believe how many guys are getting all worked up over the names I've given my bikes. LOL. Live a little n have a laugh every now n then. You only live once, have a blast n stop being so uptight. After all, cycling is all about fun. We should leave our serious faces in the office. Once on the bike, we should all be transported back in time to our happy n carefree childhood days.

Bordersroadie, thanks. I have a lovely wife who understands my love for cycling and allows me to indulge in such lovely bikes. I reckon the problem most of us have is not lack of money but lack of understanding from our partners, when we wanna splurge on the bikes. Anyway, I will be posting up pics of my Van Nic soon.

Good man....although its strictly rule9 fun in the uk at the moment! Haha
  • Great bikes, refer to them how you like! Could even resemble them to tellytubbies and you should not fear comments from idiots on here. Congrats on the finished product, both look great and well worth the vast sums you have spent!

Bought a new S-Works Toupe saddle for my Venge.

    20120923_164228.jpg

I wanted the black 1 to match my Venge but the black version has a big white logo on the carbon rails. I'd rather deal with the white leather bit than sanding off the logo on the rails. So here's what I did with some Dylon.

    20120923_170905.jpg

Voila! An all black S-Works Toupe.

    20120923_194946.jpg

The old Romin was 220gm. This new Toupe is less than 120gm so the Venge should now be 6.3kg. :D

I love it but my friends think I've gone absolutely bonkers. They just cant understand why anybody would pay so much for an S-Works saddle n then go n remove the S-Works logos. Haha
