Thanks. I notice the TV coverage doesn't caption the names of all breakaway riders as much as they used to.

What Harmon failed to mention was that Jeremy Roy almost won a TdF stage last year, attacking over the Aubisque and Soulor and was only caught and passed by Thor (who rode a brilliant tactical solo chase) in the final kilometre.

Damn sky and their strong team riding to win... I bet if AG2R had the same riders at their disposal they wouldn't bother with such dull tactics.

Exactly. Some on here who I won't name haven't git a clue. They think professional sport is about entertaining spectators rather than getting a result. Maybe it's true that European teams prefer panache to pragmatism but maybe that's why they have lost their dominance of the sport.

The weird thing is that the first 50km were chaos, sky had no control because they weren't concentrating when it kicked off. They had to put a lot of effort in to get it back into a controllable bunch.

I was hoping Dan Martin would go for the Polka dots. This is the stage to do it in the breakaway. Shame.

OUCH. Samu broken his right hand, broken his left collarbone and dislocated his shoulder. Such bad luck.
