Disappointing Cav didn't have the legs but thanks Guys for the commentary. Really helped. Just need to find a local bar that has the TDF on screen for the rest of the holTrek Madone 5.9
Kinesis Crosslight T40 -
That Garmin riders went over the bars very fast!! Looked to be hurt
Cav was alone for more than a km and had lots of ground to make up. He was back in the saddle about 50m for the line and was maybe 5th.0 -
I think Sky were drilling too far out, Greipel spared the horses a bit. Overhead shot shows Greipel smashing it and Cav labouring.
Chapeau to the break as well, they made a great race of it.0 -

I think Sky were concerned about the last sharp bend and put too much effort into getting there first, and Cav was then on his own too far out.
Well done Greipel for a strong finish.0 -

Ouch. Farrar's a bit bloody.0
-
Just what I've come to expect from Ghyselinck! Letting everyone down in the last 500m
Seriously though, good finish... Looking forward to some hills though.0 -
Hmm... I think Peta told Sky to go too far out. She might be better off handing the race radio back to Dave0
-
Cav 5th apparently, been altered0

I thought that.
Looked like they'd used up all their men with 1.5km left to go. Never did get the hang of that sprint train did they?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

That wasn't a sprint train that was keeping wiggo out of danger until past 3km, which is the right move and can benefit both their key riders.
Would have been good to leave a few on for Cav though into the final 1km, think he had to drop back to tag onto the Lotto boys etc.0 -

+1, BMC were doing the same thing on the other side of the road.0 -
Only caught bits of the run-in. Who was it precipitated the crash? From the heli shot it looked like a Sky rider leaning on a considerably larger Argos rider but the feed was dreck so hard to make anything out.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0
-
I just hope Sky don't thrash the mountain goats towing Cav tomorrow. They have bigger fish to fry0

Somebody and farrar having a shoving match, looked like farrar was winning, but the wheel he was looking to get on (Lampre) moved across too and cut his front wheel off.

Cyclingfans says Farrar tried to get on the Argos team bus for a dust-up with Veelers... I thought Tyler was a Buddhist!0
-
I thought Farrar only had himself to blame there. Didnt really see the need for him to get involved in a shoving contest at that stage.0

Looked like Mark didn't have the legs at the end. A shame. The real problem is that his rivals know he's vulnerable.0

such a wonderful day . . . on vacation at a five star hotel, woke up with my gorgeous young wife, stayed in bed with her until noon, and now reading about cavy losing to Greipel. priceless.0
