Hi, can I ask how tall you guys are for the 20" frame ? I'm on verge of buying this...I'm 6'2 but hoping the 20" frame should be ok.
Bikes being offered a few months old and having only been ridden a couple of times. Think it will be ideal for a first bike, commute to work + some weekend trails (in time !)
Quite excited !0 -
Same situtation as when I get mine.
I'm about 6 ft 2 myself, Go to Halfords and see if you can try one for size?0 -
Few little new bits. New front and rear Shimano Deore M596 brakes. Front and rear 180mm Hope floating rotors. Raceface crankset bought from here and a Lezyne Femto rear light. I think that's all...
Still wanting a new wheelset soon to cut more weight. Maybe new tyres too although they're working fine they're heavy...
Just finished cleaning after Thursdays night ride, Was caked in mud!0 -
If you want ligth tyres ! Maxxis Flyweight 330 XC they cumming in on 330g :shock:0

Yes, but im assuming the OP also wants to be able to stop and turn whilst offroad?0 -
Not changing them until I get a new wheelset because I doubt I'd feel the benefit anyway? That depends on how much of a difference I feel when I do change them
Really enjoying the bike, not had any problems really apart from my still not very good maintenance skills causing a few little niggles but nothing major at all.
Joined a group who do night rides every Monday and Thursday but the Monday is too pacey for me yet lol.0 -
Looks cool Dan. Those rotors suit it well.0

I'd love some new forks but I don't think it'd be worth it?0

Why?!0 -
Because the Epicon is said to be a fairly good fork anyway? And not sure which I'd go for, Sektor? Revs?0
-
Well there'll always be a difference, and I reckon it would be fairly noticeable. But wheels would definitely be a better bet first to start with! The lower rotational weight, and quicker acceleration is notable straight away!0

Been having fun in the snow and I think the bike looks great in the white stuff Some pics to come out in the wild.
Fairly deep?

Nice, clean and grit free lol. Different to the snow pics!
Couple of little updates coming soon. Wheels, cassette and tyres.
And hopefully a XT rear mech soon.0 -
-
Couple of updates, Will get pics tomorrow.
DT Swiss AM1900 wheelset, used but like new. Continental Rubber Queen tyres. Got a Shimano Deore HG50 cassette coming from CRC, Should be here tomorrow
Thinking of an XT rear mech later in the year for the summer aswell.0 -
New wheels, DT Swiss AM1900. New cassette, Shimano Deore HG50. New chain, KMC X9 SL.0 -
Don't expect great mud clearance from a 2.4 rubber queen!! Those things are huge!! :shock:0
-
I got them because of how cheap they were lol and there not too bad clearance wise you know...0
-
Haha thats fair enough, the 2.2 is a good all-rounder, few chaps at uni swear by them.0
-
I got them to see how I get on with them, If I like them I may buy some in 2.2 Black Chilli and sell these on (Probably for a profit) lol0

Hi,
I have been looking to upgrade my mtb at the end of the year (giving me time to save!) and the Voodoo Bokor has caught my eye! Firstly because of its big travel forks and secondly for its value for money!
I have also seen the vitus zircon 3...out of the two witch one (value for money wise) would you choose?
I am looking to be doing some harder trail riding, going faster and more aggressive!
Your bike looks amazing by the way!! I am areal fan of personalised bikes!
Thanks0 -
-
Probably no more than £700.
Thanks0 -
What do you currently have? Maybe cheaper and better to upgrade? Or new frame and fork with the cash and use the current components you havek?0
-
I currently have a Merida Matts 10v 2011! I used it as a starter bike to get into mountain biking and has served me well!
Thanks a lot for the ideas, I will defiantly consider them!0 -
Don't think it'd be worth upgrading to be honest, Second hand looks like the best choice to me...0
