    OK here's mine:-

    Team Leader - Merckx
Climbers - Luis Herrera, Robert Millar
Sprinter - Zabel (would have had Maertens but think my team leader might object!)
Domestiques - Zoetemelk, Kelly, Voigt, Cancellara, Jalabert

    DS - Guimard

You can't have Merckx and Zoetemelk, both TdF winners! Does nobody read the rules?

It's quite difficult picking a super super climber who's not won a Tour.

Surprised at the lack of Zulle love. What's not to like?

Ridiculous TT - more than good enough to be a good domestique in the mountains, along with Poulidor and your climbing specialists.

Purely because I love his name and his 'chaotic' and sometimes lethal sprinting style - Djamolidine Abdoujaparov for sprinter.
Current bike: 2014 Kinesis Racelight T2 - built by my good self!

    For the prologue?
More because you need someone who can sit on the front of the peloton for 100km+ day after day.

I'll have Moser or De Vlaeminck or Zulle do that for me :). Canc can chip in when he wants to.

But the stars have egos (particularly De Vlaeminck). They're not going to do donkey work.

Also Moser & DeVlaeminck didn't achieve a great deal at the Tour. I'm basing my team mostly on Tour achievements.

Could make it really difficult and say you can only pick one rider who's won the KoM and one rider who's won the points!

Balls, was thinking Joop had 2nd as his best :(

I'm going to go for Poulidor instead then - should get 1st and 2nd now ;)

Is Voight really good enough to be on a All Time TDF Dream Team?
Or do we just really like him?

I don't think he is good enough.

Plenty better than him over the years.

He could teach Ferrari a thing or 2 about sprinting

Don't pick Zulle he'd only fall off.

I'd love to say Chiappucci but I can't see him being a team player, worth it for the suicide breaks though.

Another day I might take Hinault, and make other changes; initially I had 16-17 names.
Durand is there to lighten things up and to take both the combativity prize and the lanterne rouge!

Another fail, Van Impe won the TdF in 1976!
Sorry, Van Impe is so small, I never noticed!

Then I'll go with Herrera. And while I'm at it, I'll drop Kelly in favour of Vinokourov.

    OK, I'll go for...

    Lance Armstrong
    Alexander Vinokourov
    Stefan Schumacher
    Floyd Landis
    Danilo Di Luca
    Roberto Heras
    Tyler Hamilton
    Ricarrdo Ricco
    Michael Rasmussen

Hmm, maybe a bit short on sprinters there...

Yeah, fantastic! Might need an extra team lorry for all the "food suppliments".

You need someone to do the donkey work. He'll do it without complaint - others may be more talented, very few will do more hard work for a team.

If we're playing by the one Tour Winner allowed rule

Leader: Ullrich in his 2003 form.
    Prologue/TTer: Boardman (without crashing out)
Emotionless Pain Machine: Vino (2010 Giro)
    Climbers: Robert Millar, Virenque
Super Domos/TTers/Leadout Men: Fabu, Tony Martin
    Suicide Attack Person: Voeckler
    Sprinter: The Lion King (Cipo)
"A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

The most interesting might be if no team members can have won one of the 3 main jerseys in the TdF.
