Having said that, last time I tried to make it home for a GT stage finish everything was fine when I left work, and when I got home Wiggins was out of the TdF with a broken collar bone :(

Keizer and Minguez are both high in the Fuga classification:

1 Reto Hollenstein (Swi) Team NetApp 344 pts
2 Olivier Kaisen (Bel) Lotto Belisol Team 339
3 Alfredo Balloni (Ita) Farnese Vini - Selle Italia 323
4 Miguel Minguez Ayala (Spa) Euskaltel - Euskadi 308
5 Brian Bulgac (Ned) Lotto Belisol Team 306
6 Martijn Keizer (Ned) Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team 305

6,000 euro prize at the end of the Giro... better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, innit.

do you think Cav will make it up the Stelvio before the cut off time?
full marks if he does... it would kill me (although do quite fancy having a crack at it)

If he gets that far he will.

He's got a strong head - he eeks it out.

    He's never been eliminated.

We've seen he can get up anything when he wants to.

More to the point, he'll finish in a group that's too big to eliminate.

Even if he does miss the time cut, the likelihood is a couple-dozen others will miss it too, meaning they'll be docked points instead of eliminated.

    ^ what NTD said.

Agreed, he'll make it if he wants to. He's not a great climber but there are worse, he'll just stare at Bernie Eisels bum and grind it out.

Man - waking up at 13 00 (last lie in of my holiday, stuck at home as I have no car and my parents live in the country miles from anywhere...) has really screwed my body clock up!

He does that when he's trying to get in within the time limit in hilly bike races too :P.

I just thought to myself "hmm, starting to rain... that could cause problems for the finish" and then realised I was looking out the window instead of at the TV.

    That is worrying.
