However, so far I've *earned* over £700 writing about it!
Is it just me or are there some strange economics there? You paid £7 a month, or whatever it is, for many months, invested 2000 hours of your life in it yet only earned £700? That's £0.35 an hour before subtracting your investment.

2000 hours of minimum wage would have grossed you £12,160 instead :P

    Result.

A skyrim update - not that anyone cares.

Haven't played for a while. Am currently level 14 - with big stats in sneak, one handed, and archery, with improved stats in light armour, smithing, and a tiny bit on destruction.

The tip on magic versus mages worked well > and I paid for some training in archery so I can now actually deal proper death in one strike of an arrow, which makes a change.

I finished the companions quest so I'm now head honcho (with the women A-something as my side-kick, since the others rush in a little aggressively for my liking), and I've slain my first dragon.

Have a shout too, but that seems to be only usable once a day which is pointless.

Currently on my way to see some old shouty people up a massive mountain.

The game could do with some mild way-pointing. Spent ages trying to climb up a mountain, only to realise I had to walk all the way round the other side of it to get to a set of steps & stairs. *groan*

Would that be Unrelenting Force? You need to go to a temple of Talos - there is one in Whiterun where the guy is ranting - and worship Talos. Also an amulet of Talos will bring the waiting times down.

After their 3 missions stop doing the main missions until you've maxed your character. Or not. I chose not to because I want all the side quests out of the way before I do anything permanent to the gaming world.

There is a spell called Clarivoyance that 'shows you the way' to your mission destination. It's a nice touch to have an ingame spell like that.

    Haha!

Well, the way I look at it is it's currently cost me -£500. I'd be playing it anyway, even if I wasn't being paid to write about it, so your maths, while interesting, is entirely irrelevant!

Got the Orange Box around xmas time. I started playing HL2 last week. I'm about halfway through and (dons flame-retardant/hev suit) I'm finding it a bit meh. Quite enjoyed HL back in the day, although Deus Ex was my fave of that era...

I've enjoyed playing through the Assassin's creed sequence, though

I thought HL2 was the weakest part of the Orange Box

JG, eat something would you, can't feckin' hide behind a mountain goat
Sorry, RC. Finished HL2 on sunday, still a bit underwhelmed. The original HL, Opposing force and Blue Shift were better games. It could be the nature of the level maps but the baddies seemed to be much more intelligent in the original: continuously flanking you; throwing grenades just when you were in a spot of bother. That sort of thing

@JonGinge: now you have to get the Cinematic Mod and play it through again.

If you want intelligent baddies join me in a Versus match on L4D2.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.
