Interesting that Anton dropped back to help Nieve up to the break - he must've given up on everything but being a domestique. Given that there were two other Euskatel guys to do it.

I don't think so - it wasn't exactly a break full of also rans that could be allowed to stay away - it had to be neutralised. Roche, and Seeldrayers were still in it, so it was probably a good move by Nibali to kill it by his presence rather than force his or Sky's team too - he probably wants just to fight a few seconds behind wiggins with his stronger team.
