It's a badly tarmaced bit of road at Gieres, at 5kms from the finish. They do one last bit of downhill sweeping into a slight bend with a crest that suddenly drops away. I was there for the first hour of riders and many (who wouldn't have been going a fast as Evans was later on) were getting wheels airbourne by a couple of inches.
